UK Time Attack 2024 : Round 4 - Brands Hatch
In this episode, Luke Capehorn faces a tight deadline to get his car ready for Round 4 of Time Attack at Brands Hatch. Just a week before the event, we discovered the engine was damaged during testing. Luke quickly sourced a new engine, and with the help of Midnight Motorsport, they completed the swap by 2 AM on Saturday.
By 10 AM, Luke was at Giz Motorsport in Skegness for some final tweaks and remapping. The car faced challenges with high air intake temperatures and limited power, and it even destroyed two tires and a driveshaft on the dyno. Despite these issues, Luke got the car running and drove straight to Brands Hatch.
At the track, the team fixed the driveshaft and secured a loose bolt to prepare the car for race day. The warm-up was cut short by a fuel issue, and practice ended early due to hesitation problems caused by 67-degree air intake temperatures. Despite these setbacks, Luke managed to qualify in 3rd place with two laps on lower power, even after blowing a boost hose. In the final race, running on reduced power, Luke completed three hot laps and secured another 3rd place finish.
