One thing I love about our trains is the variety. The sleek and speedy 390, 395, 800 family and others. The absolute beasts like the 66 and the 67 can pull a skyscraper down the track if they wanted to and the stoppers are both efficient and elegant with trains like the 321 and the 387 Electrostar. Not to mention our proud steam age or the iconic Eurostar.

@ejc71294 жыл бұрын
StarlifeStudios Rail Videos yes indeed...nice to see some HST’s still going, they are a classic railway icon 😎👍🏽 yes ex EMR now on MML, but back in BR days it was the normal stamping ground for these. ER sets and power cars were shared out of Bounds Green between King’s X & St Pancras, so one day a set could be on a King’s X - Aberdeen and back, the next day it could pop up on the MML out of St Pancras on a service to Sheffield. Sets were also swapped and shared between ECML and MML at Neville Hill. Great days 😆👍🏽🎉
@StarlifeStudios4 жыл бұрын
Thats mad to think that they were all allocated on different routes on different days. It seems to me that this also continued to a lesser degree after Privatisation, I remember seeing some RR 158s on VXC services. What is your favorite (new) stock post-2000 EJC? I really like the 745s I think they are a real step change for InterCity travel.
@ejc71294 жыл бұрын
StarlifeStudios Rail Videos Nearly all of BR was like that. Practically anything locomotive-wise could turn up almost anywhere. The class 47 diesels were by far the biggest wanderers in the 1980’s 😆 I’ve seen Inverness based 47541 “The Queen Mother” at Cardiff working a summer Saturday York to Tenby Holiday Train 😦 I was in Edinburgh one weekend and saw Cardiff based 47559 “Sir Joshua Reynolds” on an Edinburgh to Aberdeen service 😆 Thats the way it used to be, you never quite knew what you were getting..it was fun 😎👍🏽🎉 My favourite stock now? Good question. I’d have to base it on travel comfort and experience. I agree the 745 Stadler does look impressive, but I am yet to ride on one, so I can’t comment yet on those. I’d have to say the Pendolino (1st Class)..they are silent, very comfortable (again 1st Class) and I did enjoy the tilting at high speeds 😆 they have mastered the tilt. Unfortunately the prototype APT was not quite there. I remember feeling tilt sick when I got off that back in the early 1980’s 😂😂👍🏽

You should go to Chathill station on the ECML, the fastest trains I have ever seen were there!

That first freighter was shifting. Didn't know they could do that sort of speed

Great video, but so sad that you seem to deliberately avoid identifying stations. I looked for the names but only saw two, Marks Tey and Stevenage. I want to know where to see the best views but I can't get it from your video.

All the stations I filmed at are in the description 😃 along with the individual videos they came from. I take your point though, if I do this again, I will add the station to the upper right of the video.

@@StarlifeStudios So sorry, I never even looked at the description, my bad. The caption idea is excellent, or maybe just focus on a station sign for a second or two as the first train comes through? I do appreciate your efforts and look forward to the next one.

Hello Ridefast, I think you’ve raised a great point. I assumed that my viewers would look in the description for that information. I feel that I will need to refer to the description more in the future. I really appreciate your honesty when it comes to this. Your comments, positive and negative, help me to make the videos that come after even better 😃 Thank You.

Why so many Avanti Pendolino’s not carrying the full Avanti livery?
@StarlifeStudios Жыл бұрын
During Avanti's early years (2019-2021), it was common for just the ends to carry the livery, but, slowly but surely the full livery appeared. 390155 was the only one in the full livery during this period and even to this day, its livery differs slightly from the others.
