Loving these videos. Thanks for sharing. Ronnie the 250 Rally is a real trooper. My kind of bike... when I was younger. My baby GS was purchased as a 60th birthday present with the intention of less adventurous adventures, but I can still vicariously enjoy your Trans Europe Trail adventures. Beautiful countryside.

I'm 81 years old (that's wife in pic) and just reached 11,000 miles on my 2014 CRF250L. Only problem is well known to users: Replace self-adjusting cam chain tensioner with manual, after-market type. Installed Corbin (US) seat, CRF's Only sport windscreen, luggage rack, and better grips. Install rim-locks if you will be reducing tire (tyre) pressure for off-road. Now using Metzler Sahara Enduro tires (Steph Jeavon's fav). Even though all you "green-laners" say it's light (320 lbs.), that's not for tech single track stuff like in our Rocky Mountains. I put quite a few miles on it in the front range of the Rockies and believe me you don't want to have to pull even that weight bike out of a creek at 8,400 feet above sea level when you're anywhere near my age,. It's no KTM but is about perfect for what it is made for.

Excellent - Sorry about your back..! Had my Rally for 3 weeks now and first thing I noticed was the bars are bit low standing (I am 5 10 so average height). But I think this is a cool little bike. Have dropped it on the low side of a rut and didn't hurt too much to lift it back on it's feet. I haven't given it a name yet - I was thinking "mid life %$*K up" but that's a bit long.

Great video. I purchased my Rally 3 months ago. IMy impressions it needs better off road tires to handke mud and sand as soon as I wear out the original tires ill upgrade tires. You must deflate to around 18-20 bs for better traction. Its a bit soft in the tail suspension but I'm actually getting used to it as an older rider I appreciate the smoother ride over bumps. Will be adding bark busters soon to progect the leavers. Other additions soon will be a small travel rack, bigger pegs shift and brake levers and a 12v USB port. In getting 72 miles per gallon. My friend has the 450L he is getting 50 miles oer gallon. I think once ive made a few adjustments its about the perfect trail bike.

I've had a similar experience with the Rally before. You really need to be on the right tyres when tackling mud. It's a top-heavy, rather heavy bike, and when it starts slipping, it can be very tough to get it upright again.

Always a difficult question! Depends on two things: Your ability to handle 200kgs on the trails (picking it up often) and the amount of road riding you’re doing. If you’re heading off to Morocco from the UK, take the T7, if you’re planning to ride the UK TET buy the 300L :D Either way, have fun!

Love it! You certainly put a lot into making these stories. And well-presented, too. BTW, what brand is that front crash bar (the one that goes from the engine up to the front faring)? And does it have/need extra strengthening at the top attachment point; surely that's not normally a strong part of the bike.

@@Motoeuro by me it seems that I have 100% succeed in this statistic. After the quarantine, 10kg over and 10kg over I had anyway before and all that, at the age of 48. That's why I broke my shoulder as I told you in your last video in a muddy fall down, which 10 years or 20kg earlier would be harmless.😌

Another brillinat and entertaining video! one thing which is of interest for me as a german. Is it legal to ride these trails, cause in germany you would be immediatly arrested. I would love if thats allowed.
@Motoeuro
@Motoeuro 4 жыл бұрын
Yes, 100% legal. Ive been in trouble before and its not good. The TET is a legal off road adventure. Download the GPX file from the website and see what trails are legal in your country, it goes all over Europe. Cheers :D

@@Motoeuro with an 18" rear wheel, it would be a shame not to try something more "knobblie". I'm currently running Pirelli MT21 on my DRZ 400. They're not mud-proof, but they offer great grip in almost any terrain and are surprisingly civilized on the pavement. Awesome videos, btw!
