Watching these adverts gives me a warm feeling of being 13 again, sitting in a comfortable front room with my mum and dad, thinking of happy things. Until my happy thoughts would suddenly transform to dark stabbing visions of foreboding and horrific teeth rattling shakes whilst I contemplated the following morning on the school bus and having my face kicked in by a gang of psychopathic lunatics from the council flats. Good times.

I have a feeling that the Anchor Butter ad was seen by the makers of 'Five Go Mad in Dorset' :). The first lot of ads here (up to the Airlanka ad which, as the related videos confirm, has a bitter irony to it at the moment) are probably from a different source, but those from ESP lipstick onwards are most likely from Saturday 4th October 1980, or very soon afterwards. Do you know which episode of HHoH was being shown?

Hi They were all from either before, during or after an ITV showing of Hammer's Growing Pains starring Barbara Kellermann, sourced off a low band umatic tape. The player had dirty heads hence the blocky dropout on the picture.

I seem to remember an advert from around that time for chicken in which the head of the household announces to the family that "we're having chicken", whereupon the whole house goes beserk and two old ladies passing by outside notice the commotion through the window and proclaim "they're having chicken".
