The uk is just not as important globally as it was 50 years ago, and it’s just not as important directly to Ireland. Also somewhat arrogant to assume Ireland would have left when UK did

Mark Johnson it is because of English exceptionalism that that in their arrogance they assumed Ireland would follow them in leaving the EU and also shows how uneducated the English are when it comes to their history

Ireland has always been a team player in Europe. Whereas the UK never wanted to play if it could not be the captain.

It's strange Damian Chalmers thinks the EEA will get rid of the 90/180 rule. Why would they do that for one non-Schengen country, and surely, wouldn't that mean the return of free movement of EU citizens into the UK? How would that go down in the UK?

This channel is becoming less and less relevant. I've tried following UK in a changing Europe for years, to see if I can garner any wisdom from the other side, but it's just an echo chamber. All the predictions of UKICE panelists have not come about, and all their diatribes are adding heat but no actual value to the public discussion. Educate us about the protocol, about the Belfast agreement, give us actual data, and challenge each other, don't just nod along without critically listening to each others' speculations.
