@@DHM49 I disagree, the Americans and Europeans have never been so weak that there won't be no military intervention. There's nothing stopping the Russians from steamrolling and holding everything east of the Dnieper, w/o insurgency. All the West can depend is on a insurgency in Ukraine. But given Putin has witnessed Donbas, and Afghanistan, he knows where he should hold territory. He wouldn't try Kiev and Lviv given how those places cannot be held. He will hold and capture eastern Ukraine.

I like how CR rotates the map to show the region from different perspectives. There are so many influencing forces at play in the geo-strategic game and an understanding the physical lay of the land from different angles is most helpful in comprehending the various aspects of self interest at play. I haven't seen any other tutorial that does this. Excellent.

Just a reminder: Russia's protocol about the use of nuclear weapons says that they can be used in case of threat of national area by another state. It's not necessary to be attacked by another nuclear weapon in order to use them. That's because after the collapse of Soviet Union the Russian army was in a state of decay and they had to ensure that USA will not intervene. So, in a case of war with Ukraine, if NATO intervenes, most probably the whole situation will escalate from both sides.

You are the BEST in the GeoPolitical/Strategic reporting business! In 2010, I found your KZbin channel and your videos on the Armenian and Azerbaijani conflict helped me get a score of 98 out of a 100 on my college research paper. I always come back to your channel to gain knowledge of political/military issues worldwide. You have the gift to simplify such complex issues. Thanks

Great video, I loved how you explained the reason behind Russia's strategic interest. The examples of the different strategies and anchor points that could be used was also great.
