This footage reportedly shows a Ukrainian paratrooper shooting down a Russian attack helicopter with a well-aimed shot from a British-made Starstreak rocket launcher.
The footage shows a Ukrainian soldier with a shoulder-held, Starstreak rocket launcher standing by some trees. He fires his weapon and the person filming zooms in, revealing what appears to be the Russian attack helicopter in the distance.
After a few seconds, the missile appears to hit the helicopter, bringing it down as the Ukrainian soldiers cheer.
The soldiers can be heard saying (in Ukrainian): "It hit! You hit it! Good boy! F**king beautiful! You hit it! It's going down, we will see smoke now. Fall, you b*tch! Let us see the smoke!"
The footage was obtained from the Command of the Assault Troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the morning of Tuesday, 28th June, along with a statement saying: "Zhytomyr paratroopers shot down a Russian Ka-52 reconnaissance and attack helicopter.
"A Russian Ka-52 Alligator reconnaissance and strike helicopter was shot down by a serviceman of the 95th Airborne Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine using the Starstreak MANPADS [missile system]."
They added: "Death to the Russian occupiers! DShV [the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces] - Always First!"
They signed off with a "Slava Ukraini!" ("Glory to Ukraine!").
The footage was also relayed by the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, along with a statement saying: "With a well-aimed shot from the Stasrstreak MANPADS, our 95th Airborne Assault Brigade landed a Ka-52 helicopter of the occupiers!
"There is no place for Russian invaders in Ukraine. Beat the enemy on all fronts! We will win!"
They also said the footage showed the "spectacular 'landing' of the Russian 'Alligator'."
The Russian-built Kamow Ka-52 "Alligator" is a versatile attack helicopter. It is a modified variant of the Ka-50 "Black Shark".
Starstreak is a British, short-range, surface-to-air missile system that is often deployed as a man-portable air-defence system (MANPADS).
The UK is providing Ukraine with Starstreak systems, the UK Defence Secretary, Ben Wallace, told the House of Commons on 25th April.
Russia invaded Ukraine on 24th February in what the Kremlin is calling a "special military operation". Today marks the 125th day of the invasion.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that between 24th February and 28th June, Russia had lost about 35,250 personnel, 1,567 tanks, 3,704 armoured combat vehicles, 778 artillery units, 243 multiple launch rocket systems, 102 air defence systems, 217 warplanes, 185 helicopters, 636 drones, 139 cruise missiles, 14 warships, 2,589 motor vehicles and fuel tankers, and 61 units of special equipment.
The Russian bombing on a shopping mall in the central Ukrainian city of Kremenchuk has been described by President Zelenskyy as one of the "most brazen terrorist acts in European history". Over 1,000 people are said to have been inside the building when it was hit by missiles.
At least 14 missiles hit the Ukrainian capital Kyiv as G7 leaders met in Bavaria, in Germany, at the beginning of a three-day summit. Military support for Ukraine is at the top of the agenda. The G7 is made up of Germany, France, Italy, Japan, Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States. G7 leaders described the shopping mall missile strike as "abominable".
NATO is planning to boost its quick reaction forces from 40,000 troops to over 300,000 troops. World leaders are set to approve plans to increase the number of NATO troops on high alert at a summit in Madrid.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is meeting Finland's Sauli Niinisto and Magdalena Andersson of Sweden at the NATO summit in Madrid to try to resolve their issues.
Russian missiles have also hit the central city of Cherkasy, as well as the strategically vital port city of Odesa.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed the G7 leaders and said that he wanted the war to end before the end of the year. He repeated his request for anti-aircraft defence systems, as well as further sanctions on Russia. He also repeated his request for help to export grain from Ukraine.
UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson says the Russian invasion of Ukraine has had a knock-on effect on the cost of living around the world.

@@Stopsign32v Nuclear weapons are obvious, then cruise and ballistic missiles that can travel over 1000 miles to precisely hit targets, planes with massive bombing payloads, etc. These are things that are already extremely destructive and advancing at a fast rate. Not to mention future technologies being developed. We're protected by not having direct war against us, but the risk is always there. Nothing is truly stopping a military force from destroying civilian populations with these weapons; we're just lucky it hasn't happened yet. There's not much to do about it, of course people will always keep evolving and using these things, but it's inevitable that it will cause awful destruction one day. We already have the ability to destroy literally the whole planet; imagine how thin a line we will walk between that and safety in the future, when even worse weapons get into the hands of more people.

True, the only difference is where those airmen or soldiers were born. Hardly anyone is fighting for Russia outside their country. If U.S. they’d only be fighting if they volunteered.

Known as the sender of a tear-jerking letter to the Pope and an applicant for salvation by mouth to Joe Biden, Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Boris Johnson. As you remember, he laid down his arms and raised ✋🤚. "186 marines came out with Ilyich, 18 of them died. When we left, 33 of them were wounded and 44 were wounded as a result of actions at Azovstal. When we arrived, we reported to the leadership. They said that it would be nice, so that we record a video message that the 36th brigade still exists. Honestly? Here I eat better than I ate during the hostilities. Then we were given 50 grams of cereal per person and, as a bookmark, 5-6 cans of stew for 186 people. - I couldn’t argue or demand something from the Azov people, because I was afraid that we would be limited in those products that they give out "

This camera is just following a targeted helicopter over 1 minute. But I can hear the screaming voices, "Got it!" "Yeah, hit them!" when finally that heli was down. That's also the voices from each watcher - that's us - screaming with JOY. Zelensky asked for more weapons weapons (what we need is more weapons) America France and NATO shipped him weapons but still he screws up and lost all of Donbas and Luhansk. Zelensky plkeot assuring that once he gets 2000 javelins, some dozens of Himars 🚀Launchers he would turn the tide. He promised to repeal Russia to the pre February 24. He told once weapons are in Ukraine he would regain all the territories including Crimea - Ukrainians grew more enthusiastic to believed but the hard truth suggests that he lost more. I love that 2nd rocket boost, after the rocket gets shot. It is insane to witness a war in the 21st century and it's also very sad, because most people on this comment section can't really imagine, how horrible a war really is. Me too, of course, but I also don't like that the death of the soldiers in the helicopters are treated as much as the death of a fly.

Those pilots likely survived. For one there is no trail of smoke meaning nothing is on fire. For two the helicopter has a very strong structure so a hit like that wouldn’t distrupt many of the systems. And for three the pilots have the ability to eject from the helicopter mid air.
