Russia installed in a limited amount of refineries with Western equipment after the fall of the Soviet Union to meet European fuel and lubrication oil standards for today’s vehicle engines; including Russian military vehicle engines using Western made engine parts. Before the fall, cars were few and only for the elite driving non-Russian cars or poorly made Russian cars that smoked a lot using poorly refined Russian fuel. The Ukrainians don’t need to destroy all of Putin’s refineries, only the updated ones to affect the fuel distribution system and cause engines to start failing using poor quality fuel and lubricate oil.

Your calculator is in good working order. Depends, a full patriot system costs about a billion I think, that's for radar system, launching system and all the battery systems plus missiles but most would only require a particular system if knocked out and obviously continued missile/ammo supply

Other reports i have seen on this topic suggest they were oil depots, not refineries. If they were depots, this is an important difference?

They are refineries according to Denys Davidov. Oil depots would make a lot less impact than hitting refineries. The Ukrainian govt knows this.

Rushi Sunak calling on a war footing is really just bluster as the military is shrinking time on time every year. How can you call a war footing with the small percentage, isn’t covering what is being used and sent from stocks for its own defence. How do you get firearms into a civilian population ready for defence, as access to these is not there? And I do understand the reasoning behind it also is strong. Which way do you go is also a risky strategy. Why are the people of the nation not ready for this scenario? Using those serving or former soldiers to train the people, in safe use and practice for a what if is of the upmost importance? Having the threat of using Hydrogen or nuclear weapons to deter anyone attacking you is risky. Especially if those weapons fail or they are taken out, in a first strike is a possible scenario too? So many issues for a nation having a very complex problem, in many areas is difficult to answer. Is it possible someone might have the answers to some of the above?

My question: Does Ukraine have an age limit on people that volunteer from a different country and does the Ukrainian government require you to have previous service in the military? Henceforth, if you DO pass the age/military background restrictions, (if any), how does one go about volunteering, speaking to the Ukrainian government about joining their military, getting to Ukraine, etc?
