A lot of that Russin equipment is from the Soviet Era, so a lot from the 1950s onwards, not well protected.

The refineries are probably better targets than the depot. I imagine refineries are harder to replace. Russia has tons of oil but they can’t do anything with it without a refinery

Yeah, they can actually ship it to other countries and make a lot of money… but I agree with you, that Ukraine should continue focusing on these refineries. It forces Russia to produce more oil, which drives the price of oil down worldwide, and it also makes Russia dependent on Belarus and Kazakhstan to do the refining for them. So now instead of being able to produce their own gasoline and diesel, Russia will have to import gasoline and diesel from Belarus and Kazakhstan. It truly is a brilliant strategy

Not one bit. When refineries are intact it only affects the price of gasoline and diesel fuel in Russia. The price of crude oil actually goes down a little bit as a result of this, because Russia has to produce more oil and put on the market to get refined so they can import refined products that they can no longer manufacture themselves. It’s Russian propaganda and disinformation that seems desperate to convince people that the price of energy goes up around the world, because some oil depots and refineries in Russia are burning. But of course that isn’t the case, and the Russians are lying once again. What a surprise.
