The equation in the title is not the equation you solve. For Olympiad mathematics I find it extremely simple.

Way too longwinded! Can be solved in 4 steps: Step 1 Devide both sides by 2 Step 2 Replace x in numerator by sqrt(x)×sqrt(x) Step 3 Shorten fraction of left side Step 4 Square both sides. Result x=4 p.s. x cannot be 0 as it is in the denominator. x cannot be negative as right side is positive.
