If they abandoned their post and it was found out, then most likely the families will get punished, but if the NK troops were captured from the results of battle then I believe they would be fine. Though I don't think NK has anything to offer for peon troops or think it's worth an exchange. NK might even abandon their POWs or might try to get them back since they have battle experience. Though I'm betting it would be the former is what is most likely probable.

Yep, my dad served in the Navy for 23 years. He received a certificate and ribbon for serving during the Korean War ... but he always pointed out that the armistice had already been signed before he joined when that subject came up. Now, one of my uncles (the oldest of my dad's family) did serve during the war. He took a grenade fragment to his back during the Inchon landing. That fragment was near his spine for the rest of his life. He had to take a doctor's letter with him every time he needed to fly.

One of the final steps a country takes when it is preparing for war, is close the borders, and cutoff all access points including roads, rail, air, water, sewer systems, cellular, internet, and there are others. Well this is strange. We have the same profile Pic. The architecture would have been cooler if Kim hadn't destroyed the the statue of the two women reaching out to each other, uniting NK and SK. I can't remember the name, but it was a great statue.

I am not familiar with that picture but it makes sense he'd have destroyed it given how high tensions have been between the two in recent years. I just love the unique design of the buildings, looks really cool, as well as how it's spaced out around bits of greenery as well. Also just looks incredibly clean.
