This revival in interest in traditional Ukrainian embroidery is also a good sign of Ukraine's 'new independence' from Russian influences wanting to suppress Ukraine's distinctive cultures in every area so that Ukraine and Russia would be indistinguishable. I thought I was the only one , I travel to Mexico just to see the traditional embroideries from Mexico . I was lucky to have a few patterns that are over 80 years old. It makes me sad that Ukraine is at war . I hope they were able to save their beautiful embroideries.
