Vidbir has two goals: to select the contender for Eurovision and to expose interesting promising new artists to the national audience. That is why there is always a lot of originality, experimentation, and a very wide variety of genres including ones that don't usually get sent to Eurovision.

this is not a didjiridu (in the song of Abie) this is a Ukrainian national instrument called drymba that has completely different principle of sound production

My favorites are "Honor" and "Bird of Prey". "Honor" is a song whose message seems to me to be the strongest and most suitable to represent Ukraine now. The musical composition is also interesting, and Khayat's vocals are deep and rich. "Bird" is fresh, juicy and artistic. If "Honor" is felt as a song of strength, then "Bird of Prey" is a song of freedom. I also really like "Sil'" by DK Energetik, but I also think that this song is not suitable for Eurovision. Post-punk and Eurovision are kinda incompatible 😄 I hope that more foreign post-punk fans will learn about Ukrainian post-punk through Vidbir though.

5:41 why these are chosen over the wild cards - Vidbir jury is choosing based on live performances, it means that while wild card’s songs might be better, the performance wasn’t good compared to the ones that made it. It doesn’t matter how good the song is if you can’t sing it 🤷🏼‍♀️

I'm so hyped to watch Vidbir but I'm already sad about it cuz DK Enerhetyk are by far my favorite and I'm sure they could be fire with the right staging but I know their type of music is not popular enough amongst common Ukrainian listener to gain enough votes 😔 (But I'd also be fine if Masha Kondratenko or even Zyferblat will win instead, my favs loosing to them would feel at least fair)

according to what i know, i can say, that Molodi has kinda a boring song. it’s cool for the playlists but not more than that. they had already represented Ukraine on Eurovision, so we have no doubts about their vocal abilities, but again, this exact song is kinda unworthy of participation. Masha Kondratenco won’t be able to recreate this voice on the stage. i mean, there are so many voice effects so it’s gonna be just okay on live performance. talking about Ziferblat - for me, they are the only ones who should represent Ukraine on this contest. their song is just mind blowing, it’s always changing, it’s so dynamic and the vocalist will sing that perfectly well. that’s my humbled opinion
