According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the fighting continued for the time being. Russian soldiers prevented Ukrainian forces from "penetrating deep into Russian territory," the ministry said on the online service Telegram.
According to the Telegram channel Rybar, which is close to the Russian military, the Ukrainian forces captured three towns.
Since the start of the Russian military offensive in February 2022, pro-Ukrainian fighters have carried out a series of attacks on Russian towns near the border. According to the Russian armed forces, these attacks have been repelled in all cases, and in some of them Moscow was forced to use its artillery and air force.
