he also flies cargo and extraction missions.. an apache will help only for attacking- which isnt much help since you can just use drones and artillery for that- so you arent blindly flying into air defense just to dump your whole ammo in one position, you are risking very expensive equipment for much little difference- they also have hinds / mi28's which can do the same job

Blachawks are faster, can carry less stuff (volume wise) and have nice avionics. That's about the only important combat difference really. There really would be not much point in sending ukraine UH-60s. In other words: Nyedj, Mil 8 is fine.

Prolly ro not aggravate Russia as helicopters and jets could be used to prnetrate deep into Russian territory within very little time. I mean I guess the US is already aggravating and tempting Russia by sending weapons to Ukraine but I suppose they dont want to push their luck.
