Я маю маленьку сім'ю. Мого тата звати Віктор. Йому 59 років. Він працює пожежником. Мою маму звати Галина. Їй 50 років. Вона працює вчителем української мови та літератури. Я не маю рідних братів та сестр, але я маю багато кузин. Мою бабусю звати Єфросинія. Вона - пенсіонерка. Мого дідуся звати Василь. Він також пенсіонер. Я маю домашніх тварин. Я маю собаку. Його звати Блек. Він дуже грайливий. Також я маю кота. Його звати Дим. Він дуже пухнастий. У вільний час я займаюся йогою та обожнюю читати книги. Це була моя автобіографія.

This is good. Finally there is something in Ukrainian that I have the possibility of understanding. Thank you for making this and please continue. After listening to it again and looking up the words that I do not know I think that I will be able to follow along. This is very useful for acquiring practical vocabulary. Excellent lesson!

I agree, but by slowing her down to .5 speed, and by pulling up the script from under her video title, I was able to follow along and understand so much better than just by listening alone! Have you tried that?

I understood pretty much everything you said about you patents, their ages, your grandparents (you didn't mention their ages), your cat & your dog. I understand about 90% of Ukrainian, but it's kind of hard for me to speak...

Nice, I can understand it as Czech. However grammar is somewhat different (in Czech Já(I,me) can be skipped, jsem(am) can't), knowing Slovak helps a bit and some archaic words too (tuze=hodně, moc; mluva=řeč, jazyk), but it's not very obvious at the first listening. Interestingly when people speak at normal pace and I don't know context, I can't understand anything. Jmenuji se Ina. Moje příjmení: Samojlová. Po ???? jsem Viktorevna. Žiju na Ukrajině. Jsem ukrajinka. Narodila jsem se ve městě Cherson. Je mi dvacet pět roků. Pracuji jako učitelka ukrajinštiny pro cizince. Mám malinkou ????. Můj táta se jmenuje Viktor. Je mu devětapadesát roků. On ???? pracuje jako požárník. Moje máma se jmenuje Halina. Je jí padesát roků. Učí ukrajinský jazyk a literaturu. Já nemám žádné bratry ani sestry, ale mám bohaté ?příbuzenstvo/rodinu?. Moje babička se jmenuje Frosinija. Je v důchodu/penzi. ??? ??? se jmenuje Vasil. On je také v penzi. Mám domácí zvířata. Mám psa, jeho nazýváme (jmenuje se) Black. On je hodně/tuze ????. Také mám kočku/kotě/kocoura?. Jmenuje se Dym. On je hodně ???. Ve volném čase se zajímám??? ???? a také zbožňuju čtení knížek. ??? ??? byla krátká autobiografie.

Ahoj, doplním ti otázniky: otcovi - rodinu - teraz - bratrancov a sesterníc - môj dedko - hravý - kocúra - mäkký/chlpatý (fluffy) - o jogu - takže to bola... Ešte drobnosti v menách: Inna, Viktorivna, Halyna, Jefrosynija, Vasyľ, Dim (číta sa ako ď)

Inno can you please help me understand, some people introduce themselves with mene zvaty, and others introduce themselves with mene zvut. I understand they have the same meaning however some people say mene zvut is the correct Ukrainian native way to speak and that mene zvaty is the wrong way to introduce. Please clarify for me. I am trying my best to learn myself Ukrainian in my own home with books and audio, i have never spoken to a real Ukrainian speaking person, i have only watched videos on youtube. I am desperate to help Ukrainian people in my country, in my home area, I want to make them feel welcome and not afraid, I can offer to show them around my area and also help them with medical services.
