So if NATO helps Ukraine decisively crush the Russian army in Ukraine, that will be it for WW3. If we chicken out, let Russia have all the time in the world to train up new units and launch a second and third attack wave, then the fighting will happen world wide. It's not as bad as you think. Most artillery is set up in open areas to allow a full range of fire. You are normally firing at stuff 10-20km away nowadays. The main advantage is that you can move quickly if you come under attack, if you are in a treeline or suchlike you will have limited range of fire and less options for escape. These videos only last a few minutes...what happens next? The Ukrainian artillary is spotted and killed by helicopters and SU25s normally.

This is massive losses for Russian artillery in Kherson region. They dont have enough men to guard those artillery. They likely push back to its nation soon. I expect Russia will do something to make new tactics.

So in my assessment this looks like a artillery company of TOS-1 mlrs carriers. They have a maximum range of just 3.5km. It appears that they pulled up and shelled a suspected Ukraine position (smoke in forest in background of shot) but because of their short range were easily identified and subject to counter battery fire (probably 152mm howitzers). This is pretty much not how you are supposed to employ a TOS-1, but it is how you employ a TOS-1 in propaganda videos where you are trying to look impressive for the cameras and no one is shooting back. And it's turning out that the Russian military is pretty much only trained to look good on camera. Drone spotter says, "Smile for the camera!"

not sure this is true, lies will always come out as lies., sticking to as much of the truth is far better, so when you really really need to lie you can get away with it. Russia has told so may lies and deceits that no one with access to alternate sources believe them. Unfortunately the Russian people don't have access to more than one source , that is the Kremlin, that over time they have become slaves to the "party line". The Ukrainian people have access to lots of different sources of information and their government has not resorted to outright outrageous lies. That governments that tell the truth often lose wars is more indicative of he fault in the war rather than the truth being told. America did not lose militarily in Vietnam but they lost politically, the Nation could no longer stomach the loses in what they saw as a futile War. Nixon tried to cover up the B52 raids on Cambodia , but the truth came out. Telling the truth does not lose wars , telling lies does, particularly if you lie to your own people.
