Y'all - for those of you who are struggling to "keep up"... Set your playback speed to a slower pace and work on keeping up with it that way. Once you can keep up, set it to the next higher speed. Keep going till you're at "normal". (See the wheel on the lower right of the video, next to the CC box.) This little idea has saved my life and I have learned soooo many more songs this way - not to mention, I've learned how to play so much faster as a whole because I set the playback speed to a level I can handle and then I move up as I get better.

I have had my uke for about a week and a half. I've never truly sat down and learned any instruments before. So far I've learned "you are my sunshine" and now I'm learning this 😂 kind of a jump but I'm just taking my time and focusing a different parts of the song each day, I've gotten the hang of the cord switches and now I'm trying to add in the strumming .... emphasis on trying. Lol. In a few years from now, when I start having kids, I want to sing them to sleep and grow up with music in the house. My uke is just the beginning of the collection!

It only took me like a few days to get used to the main chords and strumming.

schoolistrash when I first got my ukulele, I was so confused. I didn’t know the basics and I didn’t know what chords were at the time or how they worked or anything. I recently took guitar lessons at my school for 1 and a half months and we learned chords and I realized how easy they really were, once you got to know the basics. And the chords on ukuleles are similar to guitar.

Jen Of All Trades tip: what I did was slow the playback speed down it helps a lot in learning
@IsabellaShortleaf4 жыл бұрын
Try using a simpler strum pattern, like DD DU. It works rlly good if you need a slower strum

This was the first uke song I learned so it was quite a challenge, took me a year but I learned a lot from this. Had to play it slower on my own at first cuz I didnt know about that wonderful option right here on the video to play along at a slower speed, darn! but I got it down now so very pleased. and thank you Ukualiens for providing the best tutorial for this song. What could be better than playing along with the original style of IZ?
