Thank you. My 1st time picking up ukulele right from the store without any experience of how to play. All because of the Somewhere over the rainbow by IZ. And I found that your teaching are much easier step by step to follow. Thank you. And I hope the day will come, I could play the song with your steps. Thank you again

Excellent lesson! I love the way you broke it down into small sections and went from very slow to faster. So many teachers jump ahead to full-speed too early!

This truly is magical! Such a great lesson. I already started trying to learn this, but obviously skipped to the last part that includes the fingerpicking, like any patient and rational person would (I did watch the whole lesson though). 😂 Thank you so much for these great lessons, Matt, they're the best on the Internetubes! 😊

Thanks for this excellent tutorial! So when doing upstrokes you always use your point also? I automatically switch to thumb for upstrokes hitting the strings with the fingernail. Feels a bit more natural to be. Any opinions on that?
@MattDahlbergАй бұрын
Up strums with the thumb can be a fantastic technique to introduce more articulation. I’d recommend being comfortable with both methods and pick whichever you like for the song. In this case I prefer the index on the up. 🤙

I have a high G setup and find it better to pluck C G vs G C. Thoughts? Great tutorial!
@MattDahlberg3 ай бұрын
That works! It’s tricky to invert them with having the index movement first, but it sounds great!
@taraskius13 күн бұрын
Oh me to! And it sound not so cool for me. For lower G setup I shoud change that string? Or what shoud I do? Thnx :)
@meoshi2312 күн бұрын
@ I tried a low G setup on my concert uke but didn’t like how it sounded. So I went back to high G and started practicing again but plucking the C E (instead of G C) strings and it sounds pretty good.
@anthonymccloskey319114 күн бұрын
How fast/bpm is this to be played using a metronome for practice? Thanks! 🎶✊😉
@MattDahlberg14 күн бұрын
Start slow and gradually increase speed! I’d start about 70 or so and work up from there. Sometimes it’s harder to play it slow than a bit faster, so try and find what works for you. 🤙
@anthonymccloskey319114 күн бұрын
@MattDahlberg thank you! ✊😉👍
@All.american.timepieces8 күн бұрын
How would you count that including the plucking and muting?
@MattDahlberg7 күн бұрын
The same way! The G is the 1, the C is &, and the mute is 3.
