I don't understand how the strumming pattern fit in with the beats. Can you offer some help? The best I can do is to do D DU UDU D DU.

I think the key is getting the timing right, so brake it down into 16 timings (1and 2and 3and ..8and). DxDxDUxU|DUDxDUxx could be an expression that tells you the timing when to strum. x represents an empty down or up stroke, your arm can move up and down at a continous beat, but you dont always touch the strings. I am still not fast enough to get the tough strumming, so I played it a) slower with 8 instead of 16 timings in the simple DxDUxUDU (island strum) b) simpler with 16 timings to get up to the insane strumming speed: DxDxDUDUDxDxDUDU
