This just gave me so much inspiration!! I just got a ukulele 5 days ago and I've been having such a hard time.. but I keep trying. I was thinking that I wouldn't get any better than I am, but watching this lets me know that everyone learns at their own pace ❤️

Thank you! And yes, keep going. To be honest, the first couple weeks were tough for me because my fingers hurt because they were getting used to playing the strings. But after a little bit of time it was fine. Also, I remember being super frustrated that I couldn't automatically play the ukulele right away but with practice it became easier and easier :)

Ah!!! Great!!! Great messages here for all musicians and anyone trying to do ANYTHING new, bravo! Like 2 days after I picked up one, my musicians friends made me get up and on a big stage and play SOTR with the band haha!! I had no idea what I was doing. I could barely strum. It blows my mind to think about that moment and think about where I am now. Big high fives all around!!!!

Amazing progress in your playing and your VOICE! I have performed locally singing traditional Country, Bluegrass & Gospel music for over 25 years and retired from performing 5 years ago. I decided to pick up the ukulele a year ago and it just brings such joy! I play very basic rhythm guitar as my instrument has always been my voice but picking up the ukulele I find for me it's such a joyful instrument. I had to re learn some of the chords as they are much different then on the guitar but I'm challenging myself to learn them. Your video is very inspirational and I'm so glad you stuck with it as you sound awesome!!

Hi Ricky, I was feeling really discouraged today when I was learning a nice chord progression with picking. I have only been playing for 6 days. I felt sad that there was a chord I couldn’t play since I am unable to play guitar because of a wrist and thumb injury and I can’t get my fingers to stretch to make large chords. Today I seen that there’s even ukulele chords that are really hard to do and I felt dragged down. But then I seen this video and realized that I can do this and not only that, but if there are some chords that I just will never be able to do, I can just find an alternate or play in a different key and not to worry so much about it. Thank you for posting this. It is now in my saved videos as a reminder never to give up. Bless

I never played an instrument or sang before learning the ukulele. Just keep practicing and go at your own pace. You will be amazed at how much progress you make after a while.

@@Vireca memorize your chords and practice your transitions. That's very important, and it's difficult because you just started, learning to play an intstrument takes patience. Just practice everyday, even if it's just for a few minutes.
