Just ordered one after watching (and listening) your review and the one from Anarchy in the ukulele. My hands suffer polyarthritis and I stopped playing the standart bass a few months ago. I play the bass uke but i was longing for a good sounding mini bass and wasn't very thrilled by the other ones available on the market. Thanks a lot.

Hi, apologies for such a delay in replying. Hopefully you have had your new mini bass by now and it arrived safely. How are you liking it? I’m loving it, great sounds and different to play to the others. 😎

.I really love it! I did paper sand the neck (I like to touch wood or... wood 😉 ), lowered the head nut to the minimum and put dogal tiny boy flatwound strings on it. It's a great instrument with a great neck, not like the massive ones made by kala, and great sound possibilities.

Great review as always. I'm not a fan of the large Fender headstocks but I love the pick guard and wish I had that on my Kala solid body ubass. The sound is most pleasing to my ear, especially the low end. I like the crispness of the higher tones. Another winner from Flight.

Thank you for the demo. I’m sold. As mentioned on an earlier video you made for us I’m downsizing and will be rehoming my fretted fender jazz bass after I play the flight jazz bass. Do you know if flight will be coming out with a fret less jazz ukulele yet. One question if I may. Is it possible to exchange electronics and pickups with the stock size ? I have a lot of cash into my basses and it took a very long time to get my tone. Thank you so much for your time. Most Sincerely, Pops. USA
@UkuleleWales8 ай бұрын
Hi again Pops, great questions. I did ask Flight about fretless models but they aren’t looking at it for now - don’t worry I really want fretless so I will keep nagging. A great question about replacing electronics and pickups. As far as I am aware, yes. I have not done any upgrades yet, but I do plan to and another mini bass player I know has already upgrade pickups, tuners and bridge on a Flight mini. This Flight Mini JB certainly use standard 9cm Jazz Pickups. I am no expert with the electronics but again, I cannot see a reason why not. Now that would be super cool, let me know if you any. 👍

I see you've fallen under the spell of the Jazz fairy Rachel, I have several basses Ive always coveted a jazz bass and had a precision style bass for years ( I'm primarily a guitarist) I recently got a Glarry j bass (£74 delivered) and it's fab I'm neglecting my guitar's and ukes to play lovely farty rumbly bass's lines try one, the neck isn't as slim as an actual fender but plays beautifully 👍👍👍👍

Rachel, I'd like to see your opinion of the very inexpensive Glarry kids bass, if you can get one. It has favorable reviews by KZbin bassists. I have ordered one directly from Glarry for US$99 including shipping in the USA. I then saw it for even less money on eBay.

I've been in touch with Flight to see if there are any other colours available. "At the moment, we have no plans to release other colors-we have to be very cautious about the number of options we carry, as warehouse and sales floor space is limited (and those are the property of separate businesses, not Flight). This does not mean we will not ever release other colors, but that there are no immediate plans to do so." Perhaps if more people ask, they might do something?

I would be willing to send you my Fender MPB-33 mini precision Bass to review on your channel. It’s a very rare vintage PBass that I think everyone should know about! They come up for sale a few times a year and honestly in my opinion NOTHING can match the quality of the Bass. I have upgraded a few things but all to make the Bass better! Let me know if you would like to feature it on your channel! I also have another bass called a Tiny Boy Bass and I would be willing to send that also. Please check out these mini Bass online to see what I am talking about. The Tiny Boy comes in either a PBass or Jazz Bass models. I have the rare jazz model. These two basses are great for people who want a seriously high end instrument. I would love to help your channel grow! Just an fyi but both the Basses I told you about are 23” inch scale length
@UkuleleWales4 ай бұрын
Hi Chris, as always I really do appreciate your offer of lending me you basses but I would be terrified of damage so I'll politely decline. I know of the Fender MPB-33, a cracking little bass. At some point I will be getting a Tiny Boy bass, just waiting for the right one / right price. Tell you what you could do - take some tidy photos and I could try and do a feature of bass ukes / mini basses for "show us your ukes".

This is a good instrument. But BS native strings though. 65-130 strings from 5-string bundle sound much better, it can be as much as pop bass or metal machine
