This is Part II to my UL Power engine installation video just showing my installation in a Zenith Cruzer. I filmed this on a new DSLR camera and I'm still learning how to set it up correctly so please excuse any blurriness or poor audio quality. Hopefully every video I make will get better and better!

Another great video with good camera angles and clear sound. Thank you for taking the time to produce these.

This is the engine that I plan on using for my build, great job with the install. I'll enjoy the rest to come I'm sure.

I did a UL350is install on my Sonex. I am impressed with Mark,s quality installation. This video will be a great help to anyone doing a UL350is on their aircraft. My Sonex model ONEX did not have nearly that much room under the cowl so was a huge challenge to fit the components. One comment that I think is worth mentioning is that the oil cooler inverted like that will trap an air bubble reducing oil cooling capacity. I had to flip my oil cooler after experimenting high oil temperature on initial test flights. That’s it guys good luck! Thanks Mark.

Yes do keep an eye on the oil temps. I contacted UL and they admitted that the oil hoses should enter from the top to eliminate the airtrap . After conduction initial tests and experiencing peak oil temps of 240 degrees F. I removed the oil cooler [believe this or not] held it under water and then flipped the cooler inlets side up. Guess what air came out proving there was trapped air even after 6 hours of test time! Best of luck....

I was going to say the same thing… unless this cooler is internally routing oil from its inlet side directly to the top row and forcing it across through every opposite row (I highly doubt it does), this will have the effectiveness of a 2 or 3 row cooler. It needs to be flipped so that the fittings are on top.

Looks like a super clean installation! You should be very proud. I’ve watched a few of your videos now and can’t remember if you have told us what air park you are at? Could you? Also,, wondering if you could tell what you paid for that motor, and what Zenith thought about putting 130 HP on the front of that airframe. Currently I’m in So Cal and I fly a ‘47 Navion, but when I retire I want to move to an air park and build a Zenith, and I love this motor. Thanks in advance for posting this, and for any answer.

That is the best cabin-heat-muff design I’ve ever seen. Did you make it- did it come from ULPower… ?

Hi there. I only yesterday decided that this engine would be a good option for my cub...hence watching your video. I see its been a couple of years since you uploaded the video. Honest opinion please of this engine? Is it worth me changing? It looks absolutely first class and if I might say your installation is also very nice. I'd also like a contact for that whirlwind prop if you can still recommend it? Thanks. Den

Loving your videos! What are your thoughts on how the plastic ties and wraps will hold up with the engine heat?

Did you wind up using your original firewall fitting for the throttle cable or go with a grommet and sealant?

I am planning to build the same plane as you with the same engine. It's a first time build for me so pls excuse the dumb question. When you order the 350is engine does it come with all the sensors or do you buy them seperately? Do all sensors work for different EMS system? Gord.

Hey Mark, Please excuse my rookie question, all of my 32 years as an A&P have been heavy jet, I am really having to play catch up on tis general aviation stuff. I noticed your battery cables are all white, not color coded red and back, why ?? Is this standard for general aviation ?? Where do you but these cables ??

Mark I have a simple question. You’re getting your cabin heat from running those hoses from the muffler, I would think that the muffler would have toxic fumes that would be going directly into the cabin. How do you keep the exhaust fumes from entering into your cabin?

Ya, a heat exchanger, pretty standard on an air cooled engine.
