Music nerd here. I felt the need to point out that dissonance is the opposite of consonance not the opposite of harmony. Any two or more notes sounding together, regardless whether they are dissonant or consonant, classifies as harmony, as harmony is the vertical relationship between intervals. Melody would be the horizontal relationship between intervals.

Feels a little unfair he sometimes gets overshadowed by Jaimie, (who is without a doubt one of the greatest death metal drummers of all time) but there's literally nobody on the planet who writes riffs that sound remotely like this. Closest comparison I can think of is whoever plays guitar for Yellow Eyes with all they layered guitar parts and harmonies going on. Kind of a shame they don't have a second guitarist performing live with them imo

Seem like the band is going into darker, almost black metal like, direction. The sound is like a combination of Destroyers of All and Shrine of Paralysis. It's more energetic/faster-paced and less melancholic than Stare but still maintains a heightened sense of melody that has appeared on their previous two, especially Stare. Excited to hear more.

If the rest of the album is gonna be similar to this track than we have AOTY for sure. Even production is close to the predecessor which was eargasm par excellence, best sounding album I've ever heard in my entire life. Hats off to the trio for making this type of indescribable comprehensive all-pervading music landscapes.
