I always said if Malmsteen was the father of Neo-classical Metal then Uli was the grandfather.

He was way ahead of his time. Early Scorpions stuff you hear Hendrix influence. Then you hear the classical influences.

His contributions were more of an acid rock genre. I picked up with them in 1975.

I definitely hear a very Hendrix vibe on the early stuff.
