I just decided to reacquaint myself with this piece, which had been a favourite amongst Hindemith's pieces for solo instrument with piano. I am so glad I did - I love it even more now, and very glad that I am hearing it through your wonderful performance - spot on!

Excellent playing, Ulla! I remember also having played Hindemith's flute sonata when I was a student at the Music Conservatory in Denmark. But I never really liked this sonata, and I still don't. The flute part is great, but the piano part is mostly rubbish. Only in the third movement does Hindemith finally get his act together and displays genuine inspiration.
