Great. Been playing since April this year. Been needing to get more good Guards. I got lucky and I got Dechenbreger. But my second best Guard was Mousse. Last 4 weeks have been great. First I get Chognyue, then from Recruitments I got Surtr, a week later I got Mlnar as a random 6 star whilst pulling for W Alt (and got W Alt too), now the game gives me Thorns... I feel Thorns and Silversmash are better picks than Exu, since anyone can "Immediately summons 2 Revenant's Shadow(s) in attack range (up to 3 at a time, they remain after skill expires). Attack Interval is greatly increased. ATK +180%. Attacks deal 220% ATK. Splash area is greatly increased. Talent 1 trigger chance is increased to 100%. Skill activation grants 6 ammo and the skill ends when all ammo are used (Can manually deactivate skill)" a stage with friend support.

Fun fact: Ulps healing talent actually applies before damage is taken so its litteraly intended by the developers as defense, who knew all it took to make a crusher good was to give it “def” (and before one of you nerd emojis says it, if the talent overheals then it doesnt prevent the full damage, in all other scenarios it acts as better defense)

Fully build Thorns is super good. I basically have everyone built at e2 and even then I still deploy him. Though he takes some time to babysit when he hits his peak he kills everything. He hits air, kills elites in seconds, hard to kill, regenerates and deals tons of dps to bosses.

Honestly with a new acc and play through the game again, Saria is on the lowest of my priority. I went through the early chapters fine with just 5*, 4* healing defenders and sometimes don't need them at all and even on my main accounts I hardly remember the last time I needed Saria s3 for a stage even though I M9 her. While Thorns and SilverAsh are actually top picks for me (I picked Thorns) since you will get to the point of E2 eventually and it's not THAT long and once they do they will carry you through more game modes since they still have very good niches and from just being ranged guards so they can have easier placement and contribute more. And tbh as meme as it is at E1 they are still quite compentent with Thorns having his talent 1 and SilverAsh s1 for nice burst dmg or his s2 acting as a pseudo tank that still maintain high atk and unique range. But ye that is just my thought as a smurf.

I have them all. They are all good, but Exusiai has the most limited usefulness these days, in my opinion. She just doesn't hit hard enough in a single shot to deal with most elites or bosses, at least not without attack boosting allies that newer players aren't going to be using. Thorns is my personal favorite, but he requires E2 and long levels to get lots of kills to enter his perma-rage state. Silverash and Saria get the most frequent use in my team, so those are very good long term investments.
