I just got the re-release of Heroquest and all the expansions after seeing that they had a free app that allows you play solo against an A.I Zargon. They now support all the expansions too plus the various additional characters released. My one grip is the size of the squares VS. the size of some of the miniatures, especially around doorways where a lot of the fighting takes place. It's so cramped with the door pieces and trying to have everyone pressed up against each other. This is something I'd love to do but since I play by myself in a rather cramped area... I'll just live vicariously through you with your hard work and enjoyable content as my quest reward. 😄

Cool! I have been playing with the app during livestream solo quests on Dinner and a Boardgame: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gqHIdqhsbNd4q6c Unfortunately, to do that I have to use the original board because my office setup isn't large enough either. But we are having a great time. If you need some vicarious fun, I'd love to have you live or on the replays. 🙂

I am currently designing a 3d printed version of a heroquest board and it is no short amount of work. Having said that, much respect for taking the time to make the whole thing out of foam, that must have been a little tedious.

Haven't watched the other videos yet, but interested in how you make this compatible with multi-space tiles meant to overlap non-3D walls, such as rooms from the expansions.
@EHeathRobinson Жыл бұрын
I don't know yet. Right now, it is not compatible. But, I asked my self the same question when I unboxed the Elf Quest pack on the Morning Grind livestream. I will have to think of something, but that will have to be the subject of another video.

Just buying the materials to make my version of your fantastic Heroquest gaming board. Where do you obtain the template for the doors which you had laser cut. I’m thinking of doing the same thing by using my Cricut machine to cut thin sheets of balsa wood, however I can’t find any blueprints/templates from which to make them. Thanks again for another brilliant video.
@EHeathRobinson2 жыл бұрын
Cool! I made the files for laser cutting the doors available. Check out this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mn3YdaiknJiLbdk and then there’s a link in the description of that video to download the files.

Love the video! I wanted to do the HeroQuest logo on my build when I start. Do you happen to have a copy of the file you scaled up? I'm not real tech savvy so it would save me a lot of headache. 😄
@EHeathRobinson2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Glad you like it. I don't have that file actually, but it was nothing special. It was a rather crude "blow up" of the logo on the computer. It worked for what I needed, but I did not think it was worth keeping.

@@EHeathRobinson It's intriguing and hilarious as I'm sure pretty much EVERY 90's kid who played the game would have SWORN it was Zargon on the Screen. Mentor's image is also shown in some of the NEW Questbooks and it matches the Screen to the tee. Apparently, Zargon's evil physical form is too much for any of us to handle!
@EHeathRobinson2 жыл бұрын
@@KentKaliber I am sure that is the case as well. If you asked everyone who had played the original version of the game who the person on the screen was, I would bet that they would have said Zargon.

Looks great, done something similar but now furniture looks small, have you altered your furniture??
@EHeathRobinson2 жыл бұрын
I did not alter the furniture at all. That is just the furniture from the original game. I did not think the furniture looked too small. For me, the point of having the larger board was to provide a bit more space anyway. I think scaling up the furniture would also be a rather large operation. Maybe you could find 3D files of the furniture online and print them at 125%. Then paint them up. But I don't run a printer...yet.

I don't think I would ever consider making a 3D Heroquest board. Likely any board I would design would be detachable so I wouldn't have an issue with storage. The problem with such a board would be setting it up to play a game and the walls would be a hindrance in placing furniture or moving hero or monster miniatures. You basically don't want to slow down the game which is why a 3D board isn't practical for playing a game.
