there are multipliers for the abyss flies now. someone already posted a video about it. tier 0 item flies do .5 your damage, 1 is .75, 2 is base damage, 3 is 1.5, and 4 is a 2times multiplier. the video goes over many other details so i can share the link if people want to know

Fun fact: you can void/abyss items as you pick them up, so if there’s a specific item you want to abyss in a choice room like boss rush, you can grab one and then hit space while Isaac holds the item above his head. This may have been changed but as far as I know this works, and this also allows taking of blind items safely as you can void/abyss bad items

I think the best indication of what a QoL improvement this patch was is the number of times Sin has beaten Delirium since its release. Not only in the portal always spawning, but also having enough fun and feeling confident enough to continue the run when there's no need to. I also think it fixes one of the problem's Sin's had with those endgame bosses for a while, which is the lack of incentive to fight them. While I'm not opposed to there being additional rewards for beating them, the incentive should be that you're enjoying the run and it's fun to fight them. I just don't think that was the case in Repentance, so the lack of other reward was sorely missed.

fun fact if you want to void/abyss one specific item in a criteria like boss rush you can pick the item and then use abyss/void during the animation. you can also do this with blind items for alt path or curse of the blind

The patch notes say that the Abyssal Fly scales with the quality from the item that you get the Fly from. So I think that means the higher the item quality, the more damage the fly does.

I completely agree that Repentance+ makes me wanna play the game. But because I’m a console player, I’m just worried that the wait for it will be too long. Although it did take a while for repentance to hit switch, I was still immediately hooked from all the new content. I recon the same will happen with Repentance+ when it finally reaches my console, so it’s just a matter of how long I wanna wait.

@ If you use the active item abyss to consume another abyss on an item pedestal instead of creating one lucust familiar it will create 16. each of those 16 will have a different secondary effect when attacking because there are 16 unique locust types

Sinvicta, just in case, the debug console lets you put the name of the item instead of the number too, i.e. g brim to get brimstone instead of it's number. . . . Now, for those who want to try the seed: -If you time correctly the exploding enemies on first floor with the pots you can get Quarter + Swallowed Penny -Mom's Purse pills: Luck up, Friends Till the End, Gulp, R U Wizard -Second Floor pills includes a health up pill. From then on, Abyss can carry you all the way to Hush and Delirium even. -Small note: Boss Challenge room mostly have stats up (like torn photo) so try entering if you have the chance. -Important note: You can use Crooked Penny once and get the abyss absorbing abyss combo

Hey sin, not sure how often you watched other creators videos but there is a video by SlayXc2 about all the changes to abyss including the new dmg scaling basses off the quality of the item you absorb and what items give what effect if your interested.
