I think its also important to mention that you should check the screw for the mounting bracket are completly screwed down, that they have thread lock tight, and that the mounting bracket is straight and not bent or arching in any way. The battery will not latch if there is any bends, loose screws, or obstructions from properly fastening into the locked position. One of the worst things that can happen to your bike is the battery falling out, off the bike and getting damaged...

Great point, ensuring that the mounting bracket is secure, straight, and free of any bends or loose screws is crucial for keeping the battery safely locked in place and preventing any potential damage 🤘

Overall good Video and long overdue considering the number of Goat owners who have had batteries fall off from not taking the time and/or fully understanding how to make sure they are properly latched down and locked in place.

Thank you and apologies on our end for not releasing this sooner! We love our community feedback and will continue listening.

I partially disagree with that statement. It's an issue with other brands as well; Super 73 etc. I've had mine fall off and I also know exactly how to place the battery on the rack. Albeit this video is great for those who don't know and although it has happened to me I don't blame Goat Power Bikes as a company making cheap batteries because they didn't design the battery encasement and racking system (Cannon) and I do have great respect for Bryson as he does listen to us as consumers and tries to resolve issues when given the chance. However, I do personally believe the latching system needs another safeguard than a simple spring loaded latch and a more secure racking system that is more rigid. My battery flew off twice so now I keep it wrapped and attached to my MGV3 bike via cargo net as added protection if the battery becomes suddenly disengaged. Regardless of the issue at hand I will say that in its price category hands down the MGV3 is still the best bang for the buck electric bike of 2024.
@barnfresh37872 ай бұрын
@@dioncheese2712 - so you feel the spring loaded latch is the culprit. If you hit a series of bumps hard enough the latch actually retracts against the pressure of the spring allowing the battery to slide forward on the rail as you brake and fall off. That's something I hadn't considered when I was studying the rail latch and locking system to determine how these batteries are simply "falling off'' without cracking/braking off any of the 16 plastic rail tabs.

I just pressed the spring loaded latches on a few of my Canon batteries using my thumb and they are not very strong.

But Do you need to turn the key for install on motor goat? Turning that key and applying that forward pressure seems a lil much for the key. Is the locking mechanism chamfered on the front end 📐? I’m in Italy, waiting for my goat. It Should be here any day and I’m trying to learn everything I can. Thank you for the videos 🤙

Yes, please make sure the key is "unlocked" while you are pushing the battery into place! 😎

How heavy are the bikes with and without the batteries? How about if you have the 50 Ah with the gas tank? Is there a battery blender for the power goat?
@dioncheese27122 ай бұрын
To answer your questions go to Tailhappy TV as far as the weight of the bike and battery. To answer your question about the 50ah battery it's a beast. Very well made and it does come with the battery blender and very clear instructions on how to install it. The battery itself weighs around 50 plus pounds and does what it's supposed to do. It fits secure, provides you with ample power and you will get better overall performance and many, many, many more miles.

For cruise control whole throttle down, as well as the minus button at the same time, and the bike will set to cruise control

With all due respect it's not people that are not putting thier batteries on properly. You shouldn't have to fiddle with the key and make sure it's in the right position and shove it down super hard to make the battery go in. I hope the next revision on the motor goat is a better solution for clamping the battery one, and I hope you sell that solution to current owners.
@GoatPowerBikes2 ай бұрын
Well.. not much fiddling needed if the battery is on properly 😉. Thanks for the feedback, we are constantly working to improve our designs!
@JaksIRL2 ай бұрын
@@GoatPowerBikes You're literally fiddling with it, smacking it and jiggling it in this video. It should just pop in like every other e-bike battery in the world. I'm not bagging on you. I love my MGv3, but I am not a fan of riding it in a constant state of paranoia that I'm going to hit a bump and my battery is going to fly off because when I put it on, it clicked, but it didn't "click"
@err_kk2 ай бұрын
kind of fumbled on the power goat. To anyone watching, the battery sits about an inch offset, then drops down into place. Be sure to push it down and as mentioned, you shouldn't face resistance when locking the battery with the key. If you do, you may want to give the battery a firm wiggle in place enough to seat the power connector better.
@GoatPowerBikes2 ай бұрын
Thanks for the tip! That extra push and ensuring the battery is properly seated without resistance are great points. We'll definitely take this feedback into account as we continue improving the design.
