My mom would not let me see this film while in the theaters because it had an "R" rating, mostly for the language. I was devastated, still being in high school. Finally in 1983, when I was legal age, I rented a VHS player and this movie from a local 7/11 store, as, I could not afford a player then. I think I watched it about 6 times in the 24 hours I had rented the VHS machine. I was in heaven. My mom watched it with me and was not impressed at all. 😃😃😃

The final scene where the Blues Bros are kind of outrunning EVERY cop car in Chicago was my husband’s fave. Me? I learned to appreciate so many artists I’d heard as a kid then finally got to watch them doing something out of kilter. I’ve been an Aretha fan since & her passing hasn’t changed that one bit. I even named a rather large black & tan dog Aretha & that was the best compliment I could ever give. RIP songstress & damned fine friend
