Before we got there everyone thought we needed to see everything because none of us would ever go back with it so far out of the way. After the second day I think the consensus was that everyone would go there again.

Yes, even from Houston it’s a 13hr trip. Both Kathleen and I did many Big Bend trips that involved all night drives to get there, and then putting on the river first thing in the morning.

I'm writing this from Warwickshire, England, home of the Land Rover, where virtually everyone knows someone who works for Jaguar Land Rover. It makes me feel proud that the Land Rover products did so well on your trip. I'd expect it from the new Defender, but the fact that the much cheaper Discoveries (LR4) did as well was impressive.

Four of the people on the trip own LR4s and love them. I’m a Disco 1 and Disco 2 guy but maybe that is because I’ve never owned a LR4!

Wow some beautiful scenery of the USA, well a small part of it! Some of it was a bit lunar in nature and other parts just rugged. I have two questions Steve: 1. did you rely on the dashboard display (360) at any time or did you just rely on the spotter? 2. I noticed that the solar panel was quite dirty by the end of the trip did the dirt affect it in any way? Just curious to know. Thanks for sharing this trip Steve It was very enjoyable. 👍👍

1: I tried to use the cameras but they were not very useful for this type of environment, although it was nice to have the side-by-side side cameras up when going up Christmas Mountains so I could check how much room I had on both sides. 2: The solar panel got dirty on the last day because I put my wet tent on there to dry it out before trying to pack it away. Before that I did wipe it a couple time with water and a towel but except for the time at Destination Defender we were driving so much that everything was always charged up. 3: I might be posting a follow up video on how the Defender did, what broke, and what worked and did not.

As a British citizen and someone who was born in the Midlands not too far from the Land Rover factory I have always been interested in these vehicles. 👍👍

I'm seeing a lot of 19" and some 20" wheels there. Did anyone have any issues with these sizes vs going down to 18"s?
