What I have noticed about these little speakers is where you place them. If you put them in a small area up against something it greatly increases Bass.

The EQ is what makes these soundcore speakers stand their ground with other speakers. Though I would like to have it ready out of the box, they are worth due to their customization and price.

The Motion Boom really needs custom EQ (available via its app) to get the best results from it. Ditto for the M+. The C5 does IMO provide the best "out of box" experience

With the motion boom, it's already lacking in treble because of lack of tweeters so the best mode is to disable base boost because it mutes the vocals and reduced it's clarity... Also set the equalizer to an inverted v shape .... And it will sound way better than the. JBL

The Motion Plus and the Boom need tweaking with the equaliser or use your phone or DAP equaliser. I use my LG v30 equliser and the sound is way awesome than what I heard here.

I'm not sure why you hate motion plus, maybe you didn't use custome EQ but it's the loudest even compared to jbl xtreme 2 and although motion boom have much more bass but plus is more clear and have better highs than boom while enough bass, also bass at higher volume is more compared to charge 5 even at lower volume Jbl has this peak at highs that make you think it's clear which you can do just that with EQ on Anker speakers

Motion boom is the best bass. However the jbl is overall better sounding, and better quality I feel.

They're both great. JBL has excellent sounding bass but I'd still go with the Motion + for overall flexibility and value for money. The aux in and the built in mic could be another selling point for the Motion +. It's more customisable for all types of music genres or as a tv speaker.

I tried custom eq on both of the soundcores. The boom had great bass, but highs were muddy. The motion plus, no matter how I adjusted the custom eq..equipment... could not get any decent bass.

Great review with blindtest. However, I suggest that test speakers with different volume level. Most enclosed speaker (not ported) struggles with bass on max volume for safety reason to not damage the drivers. So, max volume doesnt describes the best. Yet, I agree JBL Charge 5 win. Just got a red one yesterday😆

Sorry, Charge 5 sucks because it's mono. Not sure why they didn't make it stereo. SoundCore all the way, baby! All of the SoundCore speakers blow JBL out of the water. You are paying for JBL name, with TERRIBLE battery life, not worth it. (my buddy has one, and it gets at the most 10 hrs, if he's lucky. Always charging the damn thing).

Well.. if you don’t like it for the price… why would you ever buy something full price? I’ve always found JBL half off or on sale. I would never pay anything full price even laundry detergent. You can always find deals and coupons out there if you really look. But i definitely loved the video. I think I’ll for soundcore this time instead of JBL which is my usual purchase.
