Marie and I just watched this and wished we had this...back in our day 30+ years ago. Nope. We were pretty much longers who loved to read on a Friday and Saturday night, while the "cool" kids partied and did stupid things...and we were okay with that, but now you all have agency and are bonding over books. Love it. Thanks for entertaining us "old" book readers and happy that your generation is doing right. Thank you.

I agree with you. I'm 67 years old and wish I'd had more fun in my teens and 20s. I could have had some stories to tell. I could have been a hippie. I could have been a groupie. I could have run away from home and joined a commune. I could have done lots of drugs. Well, maybe I made some good decisions after all.

@juliehughes1258 - Yes, the "ifs and could'ves" are part of life, but enjoying seeing others, making the most of their lives. I am SO happy for them. Our kids are all grown, and I look at them and support (and yes, I wish I had had a way to gather MY reader flock like they can nowadays with KZbin and other social media). They are supporting each other and championing a positive way of living. I wasn't exactly doing that...though I turned out okay. Just wish I could've connected with like minded people from across this nation (or the world, at that matter), to talk and share stories that we've read (loved/hated). It's awesome.

I could live in Powell’s but unfortunately someone always drags me away. I grew up about 45 miles south of PDX, my brother lives near the Columbia river in Portland. Here I am stuck in EU and living and missing home while watching this video. I cannot wait for your Powell’s Books tour to drop. Next time you come to Portland, just drive. You and Ian take a road trip. That way you can fill your trunk with the books you buy.
