In the US, burying power cables in the wall as you describe violates electrical code. For the low voltage wires like HDMI/displayport/etc., it's no issue, but the power cables need to be connected to an electrical outlet that is installed up high behind the monitor/TV by a certified electrician.

Great video! I'll have to reevaluate my gaming setup. I have about 30 consoles hooked up to the tv. It's the power cables that are causing the problem on my setup. I might have to get a different type of power strip than the ones I'm currently using. I have dark glass shelves so I definitely won't be drilling through it. I'll try them cable clips, velcro cable ties and some tube wraps to hide stuff. Wish me luck 😃🤞

Cast-in-place walls, yeah. I got ya. But no, I didn't work that out. People don't do that around here unless it's a commercial space, and even then, 2x4's are added and walls are built on the inside of the concrete to add sheetrock so that it's easier to run electrical and other cables. Bare concrete walls, though, not so much.

I like the drilling in the desk idea. Nice and simple. You must have plaster walls and dont have Drywall, I'm sure building codes and materials used are different where you are. Thankfully, we have drywall and soft insulation which makes fishing wires inside walls extremely easy. No plaster needed. Just cut your holes, fish your cables, and slap up a wall plate.

Not sure if this has already been asked - but how did you cable manage your modem and router as these need to be in a decent "exposed" position to generate strongest coverage but generally have a good few ugly wires and cables sticking out of them ?
@sceneitallwithjeffandjon69843 жыл бұрын
Great setup, and I will be using the hole-in-desk method to hide the keyboard and mouse wires, but what about your PC tower? Don't you see the cables coming out of the back of it?

Why does every have OCD...........I have it my self 😜
@TheToneBender7 жыл бұрын
No you don't. Almost nobody does. People just like clean stuff. REAL OCD is having to turn the light on and off 37 times before going to sleep, because you believe that otherwise WW3 will start.

Ricky that's a bit of an extreme, I was diagnosed with obsessive compulsive disorder at the age of 8. I've never actually heard of being like that. For me, I have 14 alarms set In the morning, my first alarm is at 6:23 and that's when I get out of bed, my second alarm is 6:26 is when I leave my room and brush my teeth, and after brushing my teeth I tap my toothbrush 12 times on the side of the sink (not that I keep track of it, I kinda do it subconsciously) and I still have 12 more alarms set for different things, and if I do any of them out of line I feel like my whole day is messed up. Like you know that feeling when you go on a trip and you feel like your forgetting Somthing? I feel like that's the best way to describe how I feel like half of my life. I would say my condition is some what mild, but I've never heard of it being like how you described it lol.

How did you mount the top monitor? I look at pictures of that monitor and there are not any screw holes in the back.

May I ask where the lan cable is? Shouldn't there be a cable going from your PC to a lan socket in the wall. Somehow I only see a power cable in you setup but no Lan cable.

Hey I have a good idea, get the trays that hold the wires, put it under your desk, and then 3D print or get something from the store that can be clipped to the desk while being hollow to hide the wires in, then put RGB lights on it to make it look as if its just a decoration for RGB lights.

The LED strip on the back side of your desk, does it respond to the colors on your monitors? (i.e. if you have a blue sky background, the LEDs will be blue) If so, is it automatic? how?

I need a bit of help. I have bought two 24" asus monitors, vs247hr, and put them on an arm bracket. This is the first dual monitor setup i have tried, so i knew I was going to run into some issues. But I connected everything perfectly and I can still not understand why the second one dosent show up in display settings. Please help!

Hello compliments very pretty setup. I still making a similar setup, all black and white with 3 monitor, a couple 28" and central 43". Can i ask about the height of your desk ? And about how cm you have between the desk top and the wire under the monitors?

My setup has a smoked glass tabletop and the back of the screen faces along the room rather than against the wall. Sadly not ideal for really affective cable management, but from where I sit, there are very few visible cables.

Hey, I recently...okay around July of this year I put together my own custom rig, but I was leery about water cooling so I'm going to try it out with just the CPU water cooler and see how that goes. I'm also thinking about getting one or both of my flat screens mounted as my desk is in an L configuration and the outlet and surge protector is on my left hand side. I don't have speakers to worry about as I use headphones and a Digital cable for the secondary 25" screen and a HDMI cable for the 40" HDTV flat screen. My first question is; will I have to reconfigure my layout by swapping the monitors around from one side to the other if I intend on having the big screen mounted on the wall, or can I just leave it on the right hand side of my desk? my second question...I had a second question but you already answered that; about a fully modular power supply and using only the cables you need. My tower is a CM Storm Trooper full tower, and it looks like I'm going to have to get in there and reconfigure everything and retie it down. As in addition to the reconfiguring internally, I'm also debating on getting a FX-8350 processor, the CPU Water cooling option by Corsair and a new Motherboard. I have a feeling you're going to recommend getting the new motherboard, processor and CPU water cooler and do it that way as it would be easier than having to shut down, open up both sides and change things around, but I"m not entirely sure. As for the Keyboard... I could go dual wireless for the keyboard/mouse combo...and then just worry about replacing the batteries when they run out. Oh, where would I get the LED strips at, I'm assuming from places like Best Buy/ Micro Center or computer joints like that right?
