Depends on the recipe for me as to whether or not I drain/rinse the beans. If there is liquid from another source then I do, if the dish needs some liquid, I don’t. 😊

i have severe allergies and asthma and had to take allergy shots for five years! it didn’t completely heal all my allergies but it did help. i got tested for 75 things and 70 came back that i was allergic to them. i would have never known if i never would have gotten tested. the test is terrible bc it itches so bad but it was a huge eye opener. we always knew it was something outside that i was allergic to but couldn’t quite figure it out. but now we know it’s every type of tree, every grass, every mold, tree nuts, and animals with hair. i take allergy medicine every day and probably will eventually get back on the shots. i’ve heard the younger you start the shots the better. i hope y’all figure out what it is bc i know how terrible hives are! i use to get them all over my body and my chest would start to hurt and it would be hard for me to breathe. they do make a spray on amazon that gets rid of allergens and i spray it all over my couches and bed and blankets. it may be something to look into. i also have the anti allergy mattress and pillow covers.

Great motivating video, your music choices are everything! I saw a video saying that using mason jars with lids prolongs the life of fruits and veggies in the fridge. So I bought extra berries and sweet peppers and tried it and I got an extra 2 weeks out of them plus they don’t take up near the space other storage containers do. Gaines is the star of the show! Such a joy to see ❤️

Hey Melina, here in The Netherlands we have a procession moth or processionary caterpillar. They live in oak trees. They lose their hair and that's causing a lot of allergic reactions. When you are under an oaktree anywhere especially in warmer temperatures you can experience that and it is not nice. My guess is that there are also a lot of those caterpillars in the States. Honestly draining the beans depends on the type of beans. Black beans are always a drain and rinse for me. I’m sure that you’ve seen the water/liquid that comes off CNN of them. There could be grit in the liquid. Draining and rinsing well will help to avoid that getting left in your food. If it is a Mexican dish you could always add in smooth taco sauce, chunky salsa, or picante sauce for the needed liquid. In any event I enjoyed the video. Hey, my brother is the same way with allergies. The doctors tested him for everything…they came back saying that he was allergic to grass, insects and dairy foods. As of today he is 14 and eats dairy products (milk, ice cream) and he is healthy. The only thing that give him hives is fragrance lotion/shampoo. At first we did took good care of him and was on a diet. Through the years we have been doing the opposite and he is fine. We think he grew out of it but he does have to take allergy medicine almost everyday.

Some of my grandkids have had eczema and I believe and I may be wrong but gluten and or dairy may cause it. If you have him tested for environmental, then have them test him for food allergies too. I just hope there’s an easier way because I heard that they have to do a bunch of little shots and he can’t do that. That would be just too much for that little guy. Love you Gaines🥰

I have experienced the allergic reactions myself. The Allergy dr won't do testing on me because he claims I will just react to everything due to a skin condition I have. However, the drs make me take Allegra daily (& I was on prednisone for 2yrs because I would go into anaphylaxis when I was not on it. They cld never pinpoint what was causing it) and I now have to carry an epi-pen at all times. I also wanted to make you aware that generally an allergic reaction will get worse w/ each exposure. I have gotten to the point of anaphylaxis w/ many allergic reactions after multiple exposures. I will be praying for lil man. That is no fun @ all!

My youngest daughter who is almost 18 developed a severe case of chronic hives n she has to take a shot for it. They started her out every week n then weened her down to every 2 weeks n so on so forth She only takes it every 3-4 months now but that stated about 5 years ago Hers got so bad that she’d have to miss a week or two of school. Never knew why or what started it n she also had to take Zyrtec with the shot. Hers I think was from one dose of that gardisil shot. That’s when it started

Definitely do allergy testing and do allergy shots with him. I am highly allergic to everything and I mean everything the only two things I'm not allergic to is dust mites and cock roaches. Allergy shots have been a huge game changer for me. Also it might help him too, to take an allergy pill about 30 minutes before he leaves to play outside that should reduce the symptoms a bit. I hope you find this helpful. I've been dealing with my allergies for over 20 years.

It's very dangerous when someone is reacting to something, and you don't know what it is. If your son, does it again before you see a specialist, I suggest you take him to the Emergency Room. You might not think it's affecting his breathing, but it can be, and you can't tell. Find a good Allergist to get him tested. Do not let him play where he is having reactions at, because the next time might be worse than the first two times.
