Hey Derek here. Love the 280z, one of throws you just crave and crave but can't get enuf of. Have experience going throwe and one and doing some work and restoration on a tea top.Red hard top with factory mags was one heck of a project, but very very fun.Was when I was younger. Would turn tires loose first and second, and chirp therd. Whonting a nother one.Hoping newer one. So comfortable and so sleak body lines,with a bunch of response. The RX7. Has me craving thowe.Throtal Raping adrenaline. I'm enthused a bunch.Will post somethin else soon.

Not really. I prefer an inline six, it's a better motor all around, but it can't really compete with a V-8 as far as sound, all things being equal, etc. Luckily, sound it's the most important thing (and that's not to suggest that a straight six doesn't sound GOOD, just not in league with a V-8 wail or burble.)

just out of curiosity, why not a 4.6 or 5.4 swap? you have OE parts (mounts, ecu, wiring harness) at your disposal. Plus, as many Fords came with them, high powered ones can be found easy.

took my `73 240Z with a turbo being fed by a Holly 500 CFM? No hood or air cleaner; it may be a tad slower with the hood and air cleaner; she moves well though.

ok, don't take this wrong, because I LOVE the sound of the Datsun 200 series HOWEVER if one had a supercharged 2JZ engine would all that loudness be necessary? I mean, how quiet could the supercharged engine be made to be? sleeper-like ... but still have all the power ... I don't know anything about cars, is why I ask it just seems sometimes that all the loud exhaust it a little excessive if you are driving a BADASS car, it will still be badass, whether it sneaks up on you like a panther, or is loud like a MOAB - I offer the TESLA as example or am I wrong, and the open pipe is needed for airflow?? positive and negative comments welcome, and wont't hurt my feelings from"your an idiot", to ... interesting Idea like I said, I don't know anything about cars but if one were to ask me about MTB/ATB, graphic design, or studio art(oil or acrylic painting), or HIMARS/MLRS ... I know stuff about them heh liked and subbed :)

I know wider pipes and straight pipes do give better airflow which is beneficial. I'm also no expert I'm 14 so I haven't worked on a car or owned one before.

Everything I've ever owned is repiped in some way to be loud could give 2 shits IF any performance in mind, with that being said, I've rarely hit animals and zero people nor have i fallen asleep driving to vegas due to absolute boredom.....tesla's kill in more ways than pintos lol

Some parts of the exhaust like the muffler are just there for noise detonation so people with aftermarket mufflers and resonators simply have it for sound and gains are very minimal, although when it come to catalytic converters whether it be in downpipe or the headers, when removed it decreases back pressure and better airflow allowing the car to run more efficiently especially when you have a turbo. Personally i do what i want on my car and i appreciate a loud exhaust just not over the top ones, the fuck up my ears😂😂
