The ipad shows more highlight while the samsung has a deeper black, the honor has a bit of bluish tint. ipad has more details on shadow due to highlight, shadow and highlight may be subjective as it depends on the one seeing the video or the intention of the videographer.

Thanks for the review. The only android pad I started considering to buy, an oled screen for adequate $400 price tag. I’m currently using iPad Pro 12.9 3rd gen and considering an upgrade to a tablet with a better screen so I’m sitting on a fence whether should I buy Magicpad 2 or iPad Pro M1 miniled for about $470. Do you think it worths switching to android because of its oled screen or pay a bit more for an ipad for the sake of the ecosystem(I have a macbook and an iphone)?

When choosing a tablet, the first thing to consider is the operating system and ecosystem. iPads, for example, have a more refined App Store with access to many professional apps, making them an excellent choice for creative or productivity-focused tasks. However, if you don’t need professional apps and primarily use your tablet for gaming, watching movies, or web browsing, the Magic Pad 2 might be a better fit. Its OLED screen offers superior quality compared to the Mini LED panel on the M1 iPad Pro, and its 144Hz refresh rate ensures a smooth experience. Plus, the processor is more than powerful enough to handle any game you throw at it.

For your understanding. The iPad has 2 layers of oled therefore you get much better results in terms of display quality. That’s the reason because you pay much more and the sound is better. Also the power is much better. For watching videos it’s unfortunately the wrong format. I have an iPad Pro 11 inch 2. gen and would Switch to a newer tablet.

Samsung s9 plus ultra has a setting also to make videos brighter. I would have bought something else other then Samsung s9+ but.. I got blessed and got it cheaper then what the Honor Magic Pad 2 sells for. After searching.. .. Samsung has better stuff going on If you just do a simple search on how many UPDATES honor gives you find .. one year only and just one major update to Android 15. They will give security updates. Praise GOD some on KZbin have bene sharing this fact. My Samsung tab s9+ will still be getting updates when Honor stops. If there is BUG on honor there is no update coming. Just for Android 15.... reddit has a quote from Honor saying tall this GREAT video thanks

I've noticed the OLED on the Honor is darker.. I notice it on another youtube review. Should talk about how many UPDATES will the tablets get :) Honor loses right from the start "A" major update. That's it.. then some security updates. There words

The hono measures much better in the brightness department compared to the samsung so i am really surprised you said the samsung is brighter - i have looked at both in store and the honor is visibly brighter under the bright store lights while the samsung genuinly looks like it is struggling and to my eyes not bright enough

While one tablet might have a higher peak brightness on paper, it’s important to consider whether that brightness is sustained or only applies to specific bright areas, such as when watching HDR content. In reality, there isn’t a significant difference in brightness between these tablets. One may look better than the other depending on the scene, which is why I conducted side-by-side comparisons for viewers to see and judge for themselves. In my experience, iPad displays stand out for both brightness and clarity. Samsung and Honor are very close in performance, but I preferred the Honor for darker scenes due to its clarity in shadowed areas, while Samsung’s colors were more vibrant overall

@@robertevangelista5661 non of them any anti reflective coating on them so they are pretty much same when it comes to reflectivity. On iPad, Apple offers anti reflective coating option on higher end models but it reduces the contrast. If reflection is a big issue for you go for new Samsung tab S10 plus or ultra. It should be available to buy from 4th of October. Samsung is using similar screen coating/ technology on this new tablet what they have already been using on s24 ultra. It reduces reflections considerably without compromising the contrast.

Op, do you have older ipad pros, the 12.9 with minled? to compare I have ipad pro m1 12.9 and considering the magicpad2 as upgrade, mainly i need it for moonlight streaming, to stream PC games and use the tablets sort of handheld with HDR. So the only-thing i care about is OLED HDR performance and of course HEVC + AV1 decode [ipad pro m1 doesn't have AV1 decode, only HEVC]

Hi, sorry I do not have the older iPad. The panel on the older iPad is very similar to the m3 MacBook Pro's display panel. The problem with mini LED is the blooming around the brighter areas especially in HDR mode. Oled panels do not have this issue but peak brightness on mini-led panels is normally quite high compared to OLED. Why not go for the new oled iPad Pro, super bright and very deep blacks. also have excellent HDR performance as well.

@@EhtashamAnwar New ipads pro too expensive, especially where im from + 17% vat and especially for my use case [using it as gaming handheld for streaming] magicpad2 12gb goes down to 450USD on aliexpress during their sales [which they do couple times a month] and using their coupons Plus ill probably be forced to pay 100-150USD tax and its ok price, so 550-600USD total Basic ipad pro 11inch will cost me 1200usd taxes included or 1070$ for customer return Second issue is that ipads sold as media devices but come with most idiotic unusable aspect ratios, say TV series that has black bars on 16:9 TV, is about 1/4th of the ipad pro screen, so much space lost 16:9 games also dont take the whole space there is a web site that you can input screen resolution and size and compare basically MagicPad 2 pro = iPad pro 13inch when displaying 16:9 content, they equal [magicpad is 1% larger but its nothing] ipad pro wins in 4:3 content by almost 40%, but what kind of 4:3 content is there? Reading text and browsing the internet, sure

Did you compare the quality in streaming apps like Netflix and in movies with full resolution with hdr copied to devices without compression? I've found that hdr works properly on Samsung tablets only in KZbin. Everywhere else the picture is too dark. This was the reason I sold Tab S7 Plus years ago and according to reddit topics it's still the case with Tab S9.

However, a notable drawback when watching 16:9 content on the iPad is its aspect ratio, which results in substantial black bars at the top and bottom of the screen. If your priority is brighter visuals with greater clarity, the iPad is an excellent choice. However, for a more immersive experience with minimum black bars, Samsung tablets are the better option.
