Hey Nice little review, I also carry a Leatherman everyday, everywhere I go, they are the absolute best for a EDC. That little flashlight was really nice also, that's the first time I've seen that. Personally I don't really like "review" channels, they will basically review anything and everything. They do so many there is no way they can actually use it for everyday use... so basically they are just going over the features of the tool..... I'd much rather a guy who used it and had real world experience. Cheers my friend !

Hey buddy!! Hope the spring is going well and you are getting out with Wendell! Leatherman and the goto for EDC thats for sure!! I didn't think i'd like carrying a full size Leatherman but it's been fine. I'm hoping to get some feedback on the Arc - but its crazy money - but if its good maybe its worth it! 👍

Hi Michael ! Thanks for the review. The best EDC kit is the one adapted to one's environnment. For the last five years or so I carry a Victorinox Forester pocket Knife, an EZ-RED pocket clip flashlight, and a bic lighter. The only time I don't carry them is when I have no pants on !! I will probably upgrade the flashlight but I don't want a model where there are so many light modes that I feel like I'm sending a morse code !! haha Just a simple "on-off" button for me is just fine. Take care !!

Hahahah - no pants! 😆 Thats a nice setup!! I do like the Wuben for the same reason - super simple and small enough not to be a hassle to carry 👍

Michael, I think the bit driver is intended to be used with the handles at 90 degrees to each other because you don’t put much torque on it. Also, the peg hammed it for wire pegs and the s gap in the ‘hammer’ is used to hook the peg for withdrawal from the earth. Again, the handle is opened 90 degrees to make it easier to grip. I have carried Leatherman since they first came out. I am accustomed to the smoother sided stainless models and like smaller versions with the tools and not as much extras. For example I carry the ferrocerium rod separately. But really like them all.

Thanks for the tips!! I'm still not a fan of the hammer and would be fine if they switched it for something else - maybe shape it like a pot grabber 😮👍

@@TheEmporiumOutdoors absolutely. I get hatchet or small camp axe for hammering stakes or pegs. If you get one with a notch for nail pulling then it is far more effective and easy. But the idea of the Signal is to have everything possible in one package. That usually doesn’t work as it always has weak points like you detected that you paid for and have haul around. I like the Leatherman Bond as it’s smaller, smoother in my hand and still does 80%+ of my tasks around home and in camp. And is half the cost.

@@rcg5317 The Leatherman Bond is very interesting!! It looks like just the right size for pocket carry! Thanks for the info! 👍

Michael, there's a hack you can use to have an extension for the bit driver. Their proprietary bits are nothing more than standard 1/4" drive bits which have been ground down on two sides. If you take a standard 1/4" bit extension and grind it to match the dimensions of their proprietary bits you can stash an assortment of your favorite 1/4" bits and pop in your modified extension into the Leatherman. I'd definitely save the onboard ferro rod for emergency use only now that you know it works well and have a standard ferro rod for regular use. It looks like the Signal is based off the original "M.U.T.T." platform. I have one of those and love it. You may also be able to do some tool swapping to customize it to your preferences too.

I think you are right on the "M.U.T.T." platform base. I've been looking at the bits too and they are way too expensive! lol - Might be time to get the grinder out 😄 Thanks for the tips!

I have always wanted to be a EDC type guy...I just hate heavy pockets so I typically unload them unless I plan on using them. I have tried some multi tools but the ones that are light and small enough for me to tolerate in my pockets are too simple and lack functions. So yea, I guess I am not a EDC guy but more of a packer, I keep "stashes" of tools in all my vehicles and my UTV...can see the benefits though. Thanks as always for these type of reviews.

Personally: no. The Arc is massively overpriced. My advice would be to purchase a P4. Which is what I use as my work tool. That or a Super tool. Depending on if you need scissors or not
