Nice build, but I wanna point out something about the way spells scale in POE: Since all the "increased X damage" scaling mods are additive, they will hit diminishing returns pretty fast. Getting some "+X to the level of all Chaos spell skills" mods will multiply your damage because it will boost both your spells and your debuffs (such as Despair)

It's not a minion build. If it was you'd see zombies and bone constructs out. This is just a curse setup with agro distraction fodder.

I put wither on the turret cause it doesn't actually seem to do much dps compared to other skills if you open the pane. Since it shoots 1 projectile per dot, it stacks withered fast on multi-doted enemies I still don't know how i feel about the curse size? I am killing trash packs so quickly the duration gets refreshed from contagian. I tried the aura for curse and that was OK but manual casting seems much better. Except the mob packs die so fast it might be better to have it auto-applied from the aura. But if you do that you don't get the chaos Dot on curses from the support gem so idk. I could see an Echoing curse build, with double curse cap - and you just rotate curses and explosions for all your aoe. Also idk if you can detonate the curse aura skill? if so you can just walk around and blow it up constantly cause curse is always up? I do chain on essence drain , so that no matter who i contagien, they pretty much always get hit by essence drain. CAuse a lot of mobs body block it. Essence drain initial hit doesn't matter so it doesn't lose aoe / ST dps from going that support gem imo. I go double range on contagion (40% then the 50% + 6s cd) cause with the boosted range it pretty much always chains which is the most important part of the skill. I've been spending power charges on zombies as my filler personally, skill effect duration means they live a long time. I just don't like the unearth skill. But you miss out on contagien spreading if you do empowered zombies. I can see the build flexing both ways. Curse effectiveness and the aoe range and duration etc don't matter as much as other stuff? but maybe thats just me. long term I am thinking of trying the 1hp, immune to chaos damage, 20% of physical taken becomes chaos from infernal ascendancy, all damage goes to mana before life, and all energy shield goes to mana skills. Then maybe pump mana and int? idk

Eldritch battery &+ mana thing seems to be a big ‘yes’ from the community - like where you’re going with this. Will need testing but; also the flyouts in the skills panels lie a lot, so much damage value isn’t shown (and that’s not even stuff that changes values once a prerequisite is added that’s just outright calculations in the panel lol)

Now we're much more in line with our builds TV! Main difference between us is I'm running Blasphemy with multiple curses so I don't have to bother casting them so changes it up a bit but overall mindset still very similar. Great vid!

Just as a heads up, without taking the right points, blasphemy will only apply the last curse you put in. There is a node that allows double curses. That’s the most your able to run with that passive tree node. Once you leave range all the curses immediately drop as well. So the hindered and stuff like that becomes a little less useful for getting away from mobs.

The single target still seems less than average... Is something like bone storm possible to fit in? Feel like it needs something hard hitting with burst to smack once DOTS are applied.

There's another build from a different guy on here. It's similar, but you take blasphemy to put curses into your aura, and then you can repeatedly hit hexblast. It nukes fast.

Interesting reference and info I kinda do the same but i also spec into physical damage as well. I buff my Bonestorm for Boss DPS while hexablast and detonate death for bossing The curse i put on blasphemy. The bonestorm i use because it can break armor and on one of the Chaos tree you showcase there is an added Extra Chaos damage to everything which also buff Bonestorm. Tho i only have 6 skeleton active (i use the crit sceptre) and very spirit hungry (both my scepter, spirit and chest have extra spirit to reach 300)

Messing with the same build myself. Couple things to try. 1)Run despair as the socketed curse on blasphemy. Constant aoe chaos reduction around you supported gems for increased effect and decay. So even if I don't have minions or attacking I am doing aoe chaos dot. Hoping to get another socket for this so I can run another curse as well. 2) Meatshield and withering touch on the skeletons. Just stand there tanking and making enemies take more damage. 3) Still run unearth with increased up time so the bone scorps have more time to spread contagion around

Are you sure the skele's actually apply withering touch? I know you can socket it, but they don't seem to apply the debuff. For instance, when I socket it on essence drain, the debuff clearly gets applied and starts stacking, but the same debuff does not appear when the skeles attack with it.

@@MrMcSnuffyFluffy The skelli's don't do chaos damage so won't add the debuff. I haven't tried, but I'd expect giving them chance to poison would allow them to stack it semi-regularly.

Thanks: SM 2 is messed up. I'm currently working on my un-ascended chaos witch right now so I'm VERY happy to see you come out with this vid ! I'm currently lvl17 at the manor act one with no hope of beating Geonor . Grinding a couple/few levels in order to beat the wolf is almost enough to completely quit POE 2 forever haha. PS: ofc. we need a guide/planner because looking to check gems and supports is kinda poop from vids.

PS....I'm really starting to realize the short comings of POE 2 fast. Here I am AGAIN with a witch or Sorc that only use the same 4-8 skills till levels 30+ or even 50+ . This is horrible design. Very boring. There just aren't any variations to select. Why pick a warrior to make a minion build? It's too far away from minion tree nodes [example of bad design] And ascendancy doesnt offer minion nodes. ...Skills are locked behind weapon type too. .

Going to be that guy I’m sorry - Bro relax, it gets better; trust me. The game is definitely a slow burn (pun intended), early stuff is boring as hell- you’re absolutely bang on. Games a lot different to d3/d4 and other popular titles in the same vein too. It’s a dark souls of rpgs. Breathe, take your time in fights once you know you’re doing the deeps, focus on the dodge over the damage. And oddly enough because of the engine it runs on, take the time to look at the scenery where you can and enjoy the atmosphere while blastin’ games actually quit an art piece too. TLDR; game gets better, early game is slow af but trust, it improves a lot.

@@Hellbending When is later? I have to play 40+ hours before it gets better? I already know it doesn't. I have 12K hours in POE one and played diablo since release all the way up through ALL expansions to D4. I know how ARPG's and souls games are. Yes, I love the sound and graphics but I'm talking the progress is locked to just a couple viable skills. I'm a build creator and love math...this game needs alot of balance before it can be fun when DPS will never be there for most skills:: So do the ice monk or SRS and way cry warrior: we had comet sorc=ruined so not much. This chaos build is not fun Im at lvl 32 now and still don't have the skills the build needs. It's annoying , I'm stuck on a boss that eats my DoT all day and the floor is pure fire. I put on all fire res gear =capped and still cant get him down while standing on a fire floor for 10 minutes. He eventually outlasts my shaos damage, I guess I need to switch to SRS for him? Oh wait...I already have an SRS minion build haha--that's what Im talking about. We'll see in future if more builds become balanced .

They are obviously wanting different combat in poe2 to justify poe1 staying in existence, and I think they need to figure out the formula here before it gets good.

@@snow56border I'm sorry to tell you , that isn't the case. They can add 20 more class's and say "any class can use any skill", like it's a cool thing. It isn't a cool thing and it doesn't work. Maybe 14 % works ok or well. I mean why pick witch if you want to be a slammer? The tree dictates that you pick warrior or monk or druid perhaps--skills are locked behind weapons. so why use sorc with a bow or 2-H axe haha? This is why no matter if I want chaos or minion witch> its going to be a minion build cause nothing else works and Ill be using flame wall uggggggg

Im doing something similar but with demonform and a 10 stack max demonflame, u can sustain that indefinitely at levels 45+. The demonform basically unequips your weapons (will get fixed at some point) but the buffs from it are unreal, it MELTS everything

I feel like its going to fall off in damage as you push higher maps. I use uncapped and get my demon form up to about 100 stacks before thinking about resetting it. have 100 life regen and 300 max hp (relying on energy shield and start of energy shield recharge passives alongside the belt that makes flasks heal energy shield), even that I think may fall off late game as we cant scale our weapons, gems for demon form are bugged and the form does not scale that much with levels. Only done up to t8 maps with hexblast and havent had a problem yet idk about 16.

My first char was witch and I was trying to make a chaos curse build but it got out of hand and steered towards minion dmg and minions are trash in this game so i ended up going infernalist srs instead. Really wish I stuck with the curse build. Still looks slow compared to other classes, but it's consistent at least.

Hey i try blasphemy with curse and decaying hex but somehow it dont deal dmg on my curses since i am relative new to poe, do you have an idea why it is like that or is it a bug?

Great! Ive been playing ED witch and was bummed when on YT ppl complained its lackluster. But i was gonna incorporate curses anyway, so happy that it can be made to work, also got some good tips here. A question: Does Fast Forward really increase the dps of Essence Drain? To me to wording just looks like its gonna burn it away faster with similar dps, so less dmg in total?

Its the same damage just over a shorter period of time. Press G click the arrow next to essence drains dps. Then click the damage over time tab you will see chaos damage per second doesn't change when equipping and unequipping fast forward only the debuff duration changes. In this case its good to use to to get the damage output faster. only slight downside is you got to use essence drain more often.

i have a ed witch but i hear it falls off late game, which sucks but ggg are patching things almost daily so maybe there will be a buff to it. i still level it here and there but now im focusing on merc. sucks for witch because necromancer sucks (other than srs) and chaos witch also isnt that good

the dps does not change so you actually want the increase duration instead of decrease duration

i think you misunderstand fast forward. nowhere is noted that it does increase anything. just shortens duraton. i will give this a try, once i run against a wall with my fire gems. infernalist is not what i hoped for, demon form is strange... but i really miss the occultist ascendancy. i hope this will be the 3rd
