Made this a LONG time ago! Looks like I could add a chain tenioner!!

I'm gonna attempt to build one of those. But I'm pretty darn lazy. I think I'll add a cup holder for a beer but that's also more work and I think I mentioned I'm Lazy

The tensioner is on my "to do" list...one of these days. Never made any plans for it - just winged it. IIRC There's a 25 or 30:1 gear box at the bottom and also a 25 or 30:1 worm at the top. More (higher ratio) is better at the top since the higher the ratio will tend to make it "self locking" - meaning in the event of a chain failure - it will hold it's position and not spin around uncontrollably. I used a 1/3 hp 2500rpm 90volt dc motor driven with a SCR controller. 3x3x1/4W tubing. Good Luck!

There's no powered engine stand that I am aware of. I have seen some expensive hand crank ones - that's as close as you can get. Otherwise you're gonna have to fire up the welder! That's what I did :-)

www prowirx com has them for 1,795 I would like to know more about how you built the one you have and parts you used . That's a Nice Engine Stand Would like to make one my self.

Adding a chain tensionerr would only make it awsomert. Sell me some sort of instructions? I need a winter welding project
