Doesn't the backlash twist the micrometer? I really like it and going to have to do something like that as I'm always guessing, thanks.
@RacinJacin3922 ай бұрын
There is some rotational twist to the quill - nature of the beast I suppose. If you notice the connection to the quill from the "calipers" is a notch. Meaning it (the caliper hook) can float a small amount. Also note the clearance holes on the "anchor point" allows a small amount of adjustment as well. Between those two items, it has been working flawlessly for several years now.

I love this. It would be awesome for my hotrod. I would want to use it for efi. Just run a injector plate under it. If you want to make me one or sell this one down the road I sure would love to be the proud owner of it. Let me know please. Thanks.

sir do we required high torque motor
@RacinJacin3922 жыл бұрын
So you don't need a lot of torque to spin up the motors, but when shooting quick consecutive shots is when you notice the torque. Under powered motors will drop the speed and your quick follow up shot will be less power. The motors I used were pretty good. Also the motor controller parameters will affect this a well. I fiddled with the parameters some using the OEMs instructions.

Hey RacinJacin, I wonder what is the benefit of a 90VDC motor over a 24VDC motor? Also I cannot find anything off-the-shelve to connect the wheels easily to the motors..
@RacinJacin3923 жыл бұрын
I used those 90VDC motor ONLY because I had them and the 90VDC controllers laying around. For wheel adapters - look to the Go-Cart industry - last time I looked they had Hub Adapters that would work depending on your motor shaft.
@peterhempenius95183 жыл бұрын
@@RacinJacin392 Thanks. For some reason the motor vendors don't tend to mention the axle diameter. I'll keep searching for a 12V DC motor 2500rpm with matching diameter so that I can use a 12V battery for 2 motors, keeping about 1000rpm.

How much weight is on the front wheels?
@RacinJacin3923 жыл бұрын
Not alot. The WB is 180" the motor is 40" out if that gives you any indication. This is an old video. The car is now supercharged and I just finished making a weight bar for the front because with the additional power it wheelies much much easier now

Would you recommend a good dc motor to go faster?
@RacinJacin3924 жыл бұрын
This is a 2500rpm motor turned way WAY down. I had a tach on it a while back - I can't remember where I normally run it but it's NO WHERE near 2500rpm. This video is when we FIRST had it running - as my son got older we cranked it MUCH MUCH faster than shown here. Eventually the wheel balance became the limiting factor. I had used cheap wheels and was looking into getting them balanced but never got that far. Bottom line 2500 is MORE than you'll ever need.
@tanseldilsen44564 жыл бұрын
More than 2500rpm .looking for engines that will go 120km/h on average. What do you suggest?link pls😇

@RacinJacin3924 жыл бұрын
Hi Chelsea, Projects like this are a labor of love, meaning that to do it CHEAP requires a LOT of labor. It would become cost prohibitive pretty quick. However IF you can get resourceful, you could build your own! While I welded this one - you could get some of the bolt together aluminum extrusions often used in industry (McMaster-Carr is helpful). But to really do it cheaply you're gonna need to get your A-1 scavenging skills going.
