Hi! I wrote the lyrics for BeMeebEth, and wanted to just say THANK YOU for liking it so much! Since u were a bit curious about the lyrics, I wanted to take the opportunity to sorta explain a bit both for u and a bunch of people who've been asking about them (usually mad about how it doesnt tie into MSM as much as they'd like...). There's sorta two parts to BeMeebEth's lyrics, every line was written to have a double meaning. First half is the MSM explanation, with the lyrics taken more literally, in which it's BeMeebEth talking about escaping the workshop, and feeling loved by the surface ethereals who to show them the stars they'd never seen. Second half is a bit more specific to me... I'd always imagined Ethereal Island to be a love song since I first heard it when I was very young, and so I wanted to revisit the idea and write about my partner, Sarah (who you may know as Wubbazt). What was initially literal, seeing the world outside of what is basically a prison cell, has the second meaning of being how it feels to "Find Your Person" sorta, to meet the other half who makes you feel like you're finally seeing the world in color for the first time. I like to think the "every hue" part has the added benefit of being a little gay, even though that part was coincidental initially... Sarah and I are gay, after all, haha

13:18 in terms of having to do with the lore, I think it’s more about the concept of E-Workshop being Zarroë’s brain, meaning BeMeebeth hasn’t really seen the outside world. Lyrics like “I see all of the stars I never saw with you” and “it’s my world reborn in every hue” make more sense if you look at it from this perspective, so I’d say it still has a connection to the lore, even if it wasn’t intended that way.
