We love Sam's Club prepared meals! I usually grab a pot pie when I shop also and that's our meal for the evening. It's hard to cook a meal after I've shopped for groceries for half the day. I also buy those and take to new moms or anyone needing extra help. They are freezer friendly and you don't have to worry about returning a dish. The chicken alfredo is another good one.

Please do that freezer video. I live by myself, and I do similar to that - my go-to is fish filets (already cooked), broccoli add a piece of pepper jack cheese on top, and sweet potato fries. I put all in the air fryer at one time and cook it.

Air Fryer Update: I have tested my air fryer and I can confirm that not only does it to do beautiful toasted sandwiches and croissants (at cafe level!) but also plain toast! That is not so useful for you because with such a large family you must need lots of toast all at once, but I often only want one slice and I am short of bench space so not needing to have a toaster out is a huge plus! Great for all solo people. I do always enjoy a USA grocery haul video. I can recommend a channel called Acre Homestead, hosted by Becky from Oregon. Great channel! Thank you for the video!

I live in VEGAS. I’m a Sniths Shopper! I’ve got it dialed in & just buy produce & my “Stock ups”!! The bread Clearance has been my savior lately!! & Bread freezes fantastically. Got 3 big cheesecake brown Bread double packs normally 5.50 & they were marked down to 1$!! 16 brioche hamburger buns 1.50! 🤩🤩🤩

Mindy - Honestly... I'm a mom with 2 kids, 10 years old and 2.5. I NEED back to school ideas. My oldest is about to hit middle school next year, and I've got to get him in the habit of helping get lunches packed. We got lucky - the school he's in now has free lunches for ALL students, regardless of income. Something about it being cheaper to feed all the kids vs only some. But I told him, when you advance next year, you're not gonna be getting the school lunches. You'll have to eat YOUR lunch you and I pack the night before! I don't know how to get him interested in helping with meal ideas. He gives the entire attitude of "well, its not my job to figure it out" when I ask him to help with stuff FOR him... Plus, we dont make much. Just above the line that says your poor enough for food stamps and help, and not enough to real be able to advance in what we need to do financially, and be legit comfortable. We do utilize food pantries and other opportunities via our church, but often have to purchase other stuff to make stuff full meals/more comfortable for the boys. Please. Any suggestions would be a godsend. Thanks for all you do!

I don't do grocery pickup either because I not only have to price compare, I am the same way about produce: I have to pick it out. I rarely see red dot discounts on bread at my local Aldi, where I shop once a week and get most of my groceries.

Mindy a cheap meal I sometimes do is ground chicken patties but I put cheese and broccoli in them with bread crumbs/ egg binder. Then brown them up in a skillet or oven. Then dip in ranch. Very yummy

Our camping hauls always include chips, cookies, and other things that we don’t have on a regular basis. 😂 Our nearest Kroger store is about 40 minutes away, but maybe I should make the drive occasionally because those are some great prices! One on one time with your hubby was God’s plan. 😉

We recently moved from the city into a small town outside of the city. Kroger's had closed all it's stores in the city years ago and now the only places you can find them is in the mid size towns around the city. Recently found out that the closest grocery store to us now is a Kroger's.

I picked up the Ruffles Rogue Twists for a backyard camping sleepover my kids had and I thought they tasted like freeze-dried rotini pasta! Not all that bad and no gluten-containing ingredients. I have celiac disease and tried several of them even though they weren't labeled GF, but did not have any adverse reactions. Overall a thumbs up and I'd buy again!

I do Instacart, if you put in the notes what kind of produce you want, it helps the people who aren't good at picking produce do it better. I love veggies so I'm super familiar with what produce looks better. But if you put like "asparagus that's not slimy or not super thin" it helps people who aren't familiar with it, pick it better. 👍

Hi Mindy, I would love to see a freezer convenience video. When I don’t have those quick meals in the freezer we can be tempted to get takeout or have my husband pick up dinner and it is soooo expensive right now. We always serve quick fruits and veggies with the freezer meal so to us it is way healthier to have those easy meals in our freezer than to get takeout. Plus our girls really don’t like restaurant food. Great video, thank you!!!

I love the sales at Bakers, which is my city's Kroger affiliate. I also shop at Walmart for my major shopping trips as well as Sam's and Costco (I belong to Sam's and my neighbor and good friend belongs to Costco so we kind of share memberships). Being disabled and not driving, I have come to rely on grocery delivery for the majority of my shopping that I do. My neighbor does typically due monthly stops at Sam's and Costco to pick up anything I need to restock or sale items. I do miss picking out my own produce and meat when using delivery, but I have actually had very good luck with getting good quality produce. The shoppers at Walmart and Bakers do a very good job! The other thing that I miss being able to take advantage of is catching the markdowns that I see you and Christine from Frugal Fit Mom always showing your grocery markdowns. It's a great way to save quite a bit of money but it just isn't something I can do so I just watch sale prices closely and stock up appropriately for my household. It is just myself but if I find a really great deal on an item that I can't freeze but is shelf-stable such as peanut butter or canned tuna or something like that, I will buy a little extra and donate it to the food bank. That way I can still support my community and also save money at the same time. I would be very interested in seeing the freezer stock-up you mentioned. My favorite go to quick meal is Costco's microwavable lasagns. For about $18, you get to 11 x 7ish trays of lasagna that is ready in 24 minutes in the microwave. They make a beef only or a beef and sausage variety. I prefer the beef and sausage as it is a bit spicier but the beef is good too. It is truly the best preparedvlasagna I've ever had so I highly recommend it. I have some friends who bought property around Angel Fire and they love it down there, especially in the winter to go snow skiing. I'm glad you got to get away if even for a couple of weeks. I was wondering how your hubby was going to be able to work since he is a minister and I'm sure a lot of his work revolves around his weekly delivery of sermons. One good thing to come out of the pandemic is how businesses came to leap forward technologically to deliver content like a church service online in addition to employees being able to do more work remotely. I did a pandemic grocery pickup several times (never did them pre-pandemic) and I agree with the produce comment. That said, I need to get my freezer cleared out and do it with college-friendly meal prep for lunches (when we get home, it will be late on two nights, so it's dinner packed also). Still trying to plan those out. 😂

I love my local Smith's! They have by far the best deals of any other store. I did a fairly big shop this morning and my total would have been just over $100 but with deals and clearance markdowns, I paid just over $55. Gotta love that! 😊😊😊

We just went to Sams Club. We only go when we are low on Bai drinks. I like to also go there to stock up for the season. I loved seeing the bear. Its pretty at that vacay home you stayed at. You find such good deals at stores we don't have in Washington state. aka Aldi and Sam's club. Yes I would like a video for meals when things go wrong and you need to change what you were going to have. Well two weeks was enough and happy for the Grandparents they go extra time with the Grands and you and hubby got time for yourself. win win.
