@BrutusAlbionАй бұрын
@@TaurusTheCrazyBull it's actually only 40% flammable which is just enough to have it keep burning for a very very long time and also spread through your base. But that's something we all could have known since 911 since reinforced steel beams just melt away at a small fire.
@TaurusTheCrazyBullАй бұрын
@@BrutusAlbion Oh, I thought It was as flammable as wood, I guess I forgot cause I Ignore steel walls since It's more expensive than wood without the certainty of stone
@BrutusAlbionАй бұрын
@@TaurusTheCrazyBull Some things have higher flammability than 100% like carpets, they've got something like 200% flammability. You can notice this in game in the way fire spreads rapidly on carpeted surfaces. Steel meanwhile doesn't burn very fast and it spreads less quickly due to its lower flammable rate of 40% It's still silly it burns though, so stone is the superior resource for building.

@2:18 Extra tip here, you can use Planning zones on Fertile tiles to help keep track of exactly where they are without having to go back into the Fertility overlay, harvesting and re-planting doesn't remove them like building does, and as an added bonus it makes it a lot easier to see Rice which tends to look a bit scattered most of the time.

Naturally of course these numbers are skewed as soon as mods get involved. I wonder how Canola's numbers on work and fertility compare for example, as it's entire purpose is to be processed chemfuel crop, or of course you have Chemroot which skips the middleman and just gives chemfuel at the cost of being EXTREMELY volatile.
@jacobgeiger45899 ай бұрын
I like to do chemroot plots on the outsides of my base with metal fences (no burn metal mod is a go to for me too) then if I get raided I just set the field ablaze for a perfect fire mote. As long as your interiors are heavily insulated and/or well developed with A/C units and vents there is minimal impact to the pawns other than having to wait out the flames to go harvest outside the walls

Tree farming isn’t quite working! Even I’d installed 2 heaters with temperature set to 40 but the tree farming greenhouse isn’t working due to bad temperature! Inside and outside temperatures are exactly the same and heaters aren’t working with 28 tiles of open roof!

@leahnzastrzelecki52175 ай бұрын
I just want to list my favorite exploit-y method for greenhouses. If you have the mod *Vanilla Plants Expanded* you get eggplants, which get a growth boost (I think it's around +30%) if it's grown in temperatures of 37C or higher. Now, I like to make a greenhouse next to my freezer and let the heat exhaust from the freezer's coolers point into the eggplant greenhouse--that can get you pretty close to 37+, but I always install a heater to make sure it's consistently 37+ when the outdoor temperature drops and your freezer isn't dumping as much heat. Slap in one cooler to make sure your pawns stay sweaty but don't get heatstroke and you're all set. Or use agrihands. That temperature bonus stacks with hydroponics, so you can get a plant at a little over 300% growth rate right next to your storage for convenience and a lowered energy cost for the heaters! I did the math for this a while back, but I'm too lazy to redo it just for a yt comment, but heated eggplants did beat out almost all other crops, vanilla and modded, that I had.
