Really glad found the channel. As a new player these are very efficient and informative. Would love updated guides for season 2. Also everyone shows build orders. A few videos on how to attack, few strategies to lay siege and defend against would be great.

Good job! I like openings like this that allow you to easily adjust based on your opponent’s civ and game plan. Also you didn’t mention activating a golden age, all you need to do is make your buildings in close enough proximity to each other though right?

Why do you go Culture Wing over Eco in this build? I don't see the point. You'll have to research 3 techs in the blacksmith to break even with the initial tech cost in your HoW which is a lot imo. Just the tech time is 3 minutes. Meanwhile, fresh foodstuffs breaks even after only 7 vills (or 140s) and it starts paying back from the first vill you queue up which helps you keep up mil production and techs. I think it should be either Eco wing + blacksmith or Mil Wing with camel support, but no or late blacksmith. Thanks for making the vid. I'll surely check out some more of your build orders.

I actually think you have a good point here. It does take a while for the resources to break even. The main reason I went for Culture wing and preservation of knowledge is that the army composition of archers and spearman are very food and wood heavy, so i don't usually put that many villagers on gold, so its more the ability to afford the blacksmith techs, broadaxe and wheelbarrow for deer food faster. But i think in terms of raw resource gathering, what you have said is better. I suspect I will find myself going eco wing even with a heavy feudal age rush and just put more vills on gold than i normally would. I suspect I may update this strategy and build order guide if I find that I can maintain the army production + at least the blacksmith upgrade timings, really appreciate your comment and input, very much appreciated :)

I am not sure the culture wing route is worth it. I think the economic wing gives you more resources to use with just slightly different macro in the same amounts of time. This is just off the top of my head, but lets say that you get 75 food per minute extra perpetually once fresh food stuffs is researched (25f per villager per 20 seconds; about 530-6 mins typically for faster advances). each armory upgrade (and the spear upgrade from HoW) is 125g and 50f/w (175 generic resources). a 30% discount is a savings of 52.5 generic resources per minute for however many minutes you are researching armory ups (i think there are 4 armory ups) plus spear up at HoW, then hardened spears (which is 75g 25 food) at Barracks. after that, you can save some resources for eco ups discount, but unless you are getting upgrades indefinitely without a break, then the savings is not perpetual. the savings from economic wing also provides the benefit of saving food, which you have a bonus gather rate at the berries (i typically go berries after beginning my adv). this gives you more flexibility for re-macroing according to what you want, including all the upgrades, and you should still be ahead in resources early on, and ahead perpetually more so than you would be with the culture wing. I may be wrong but this is just my impression of the wings so far. This is also why i advocate for the fastest advance as possible as abbasid, because for each additional villager that you squeeze in for early fresh food stuffs, you get additional early 25f which is a good amount of resources extra early on (typically get between 25f and 50f extra relative to later advance build orders, depending on when fresh food stuffs finishes). all that said, i think it is definitely worth considering early armory ups regardless of which wing you go.

Hi mate. I never thought of using the culture wing at the expense of the economic wing. However, the culture wing prepares you for battle. Additionally, I'm not certain, but the 30% tech discount can be used for economic ups in mills, lumber and mining camps.

@@adn17 I am going to mess with both and see, but I just tested vs an ai to see how difficult it is to sustain vills, spear and archer production with an instant armory and trying to get upgrades. I didn't take time stamps down but I am under the impression that you can get all the same upgrades for military units with economic wing in the same amount of time. and I do see that you could get eco ups for cheaper too. would need to look closer if that would make it more worth it.

I think its a crucial mistake to go mill so early, even with extra Abbasid wood , but I can see how getting the faster gathering rate from berries can help pump more units/better timing. Especially in a French match up.

Why is it a mistake to go for berries early? If the berries are close by I I nearly always go for them as abbasids (unless there are no straggler trees around the TC) as if there are french knights in my base I can always take the berry vills to sheep I have collected. But if I start with sheep and I've taken all my sheep and their knights are blocking the berries my food income will be zero without farms. You're unlikely to be pushed off your berries for the first 5-6 minutes of the game, unless you're against the mongols.

@@FarmManOfficial because u need 15 seconds to get 10 food from berries and 13 seconds to get 10 food from sheep/deer. If you send 8 villagers to get food from berries you lose like 50 food every minute vs villain who depends on sheeps

@Antropomorficzna Personifikacja Have you factored in the fact that Abbasid have a 25% bonus for berry picking speed? ordinarily villagers gather 40 food per minute from sheep (not including the animation time to kill the sheep) ordinarily villagers gather 35 food per minute from berries however abbasid gather 43.75 food per minute from berries.

@@FarmManOfficial If I don't go berries first (and with a slightly different early build), I can click up in the HOW at 2:45 (10 seconds faster) and still hit Feudal with 200 gold, plus you get a lumbercamp on your lumber faster so you don't have to chop stragglers. Then I move from sheep to berries as I'm going up, I only go to berries earlier if I get hosed on sheep and I'm playing against French, Rus, or English. I also think waiting for the upgrade is okay if your opponent is the Rus, but against French you can't wait as you can have knights in your base at 5:30-5:45 on open maps.

Hmm if we're talking about maps only I'd say the best map for it will be any large closed map. Like Nagari, Botany Bay and French Pass maybe. I wouldn't do 2 TC boom for 1v1 on Arabia or Altai though as its too small and dangerous (usually) but of course it always depends on what your opponent is doing. Hope this helps!, always welcome have follow up questions, no problem! I would generally avoid going 2 TC boom against the English though, unless you're very good at defending until your boom takes over

I thought 2tc were standar opening and even with eng or other Rush civs u can maybe wall a little more? I were thinking about finals génesis Viper choosed Abbasid Hill and valleys but sure i dont understand all things. Im afraid to being rushed before doble tc work so i were looking a good wall map

I see that you have many adaptions but you did not mention anything against HRE. HRE have armored infantry and archers don't really work well against them.

This is very very dependent on what your opponent is doing. I will publish some of my gameplay videos doing this strategy where you can see me adapt to different scenarios. First and foremost against cavalry civs I would make sure you are safe at home and them move out. the time for when you start attacking really depends on how fast your opponent is in feudal age too. sorry to be vague but it really does depend. I guess the idea in your mind should be. How likely is it that they will have more knights than your spears can cope with. Or how likely is it that they will have more longbows than your horseman can cope with. IF you think you're likely to have more, then go for it! Tbh this kind of question is best answered with examples from in-game. So I'll release a few over the coming days :)

LOL! I made this build to counter other civs. I have no idea how to counter this build tbh on small closed maps. 11 :D. What I would say though whilst i can't think of a strat to counter it on small maps, its very dependent on the map. The way to counter it on the larger and closed maps however is to make sure you wall and can potentially get 2 TCs, but make sure getting military to stop the push. Its hard to pull this abbasid feudal rush on maps like Ancient Spires and other maps where the distance between you and enemy is large!

I think I just would put 1 camel archer against cavalry civs just for the aura effect. It is kinda expensive but if it is basically 2 blacksmiths upgrades against cavalry on an aura.
