Kind of wish when blocking that the shield would face wherever you camera was facing, and soft lock to the nearest enemy that it's facing. It sort of does this for the larger enemies, allowing you to circle around to their rears while blocking, but against the smaller enemies blocking can be pretty annoying.

Alternative take as 1 that's put in the time with both frontliners....You can feel free to try out both for yourselves to draw your own conclusions...but imo Warrior completely out classes Fighter across the board. Both offensively AND defensively. I'll tldr below but 1 MAJOR aspect that separates the 2 vocations is defensive resistances. In that Warrior is the ONLY vocation that has them by default. Mystic Spearhands get 1 defensive spell that mimics this effect somewhat...but Warriors are best suited as Tanks PURELY because more often than not...Warriors can not be interrupted. Be it basic attacks or skills. Everything a Warrior does is meant to shrug off damage. A fighter on the other hand...only as "tanky" as their shields allow them to be. Anything that gets around the shield is knocking that Fighter off balance every single time. It's brutal. The spin shield move is one of the only reliable counters to getting juggled as it blocks in all directions...AND it cancels animations. ^^^ So you CAN use the spin to "recover" to some degree. But even then...Warriors have a similar skill that quite literally removes status effects on use, on top of shrugging off most juggle/stun effects. At little to no cost stamina wise. Simply put...when you're a fighter, your SHIELD is the tank. & it only ever works IF you can point it in the direction the damage is coming from. In a game with no target lock. When you're a Warrior...YOU are the tank. It doesn't matter who is attacking you or where from. You simply cannot be bothered to react to anyones shit. Outside of the biggest monsters in the game. & by late game...once you have Tidal Wrath...even they become flies to you. Tidal Wrath on it's own is a far more effective defensive skill/block/counter than anything you can find on a fighter imo. The perfect defense thing on fighters actively drains your stamina as you have it active. Tidal Wrath is just timing based. You can literally spam it if you want. Once you feel the difference between the 2 frontliners...it's honestly not even close.

A huge damage combo is shield bash and gouging skewer on small enemies. It knocks them down and this allows gouging skewer do some critical damage.

You do not ever want to be blocking unless its against dragon fire/aoe attack because raising the shield trade off all your mobility while also do no damage. . Vengeful slash however is your better guarding. 1-it is a parry and provide i frame while also stagger enemy 2- it open up timing for master skill to punish enemy attack - you basically change from a dark soul shield noob into a parry riptose master as long as you know the enemy attack

From the get go you should know that perfect blocking is an important part of the fighter that you should try to learn to master. If I remember correctly it doesn't consume stamina if you do, not very good info here.

Hiring friends' pawns has to be the best thing this game has .. Thanks to Reddit, I have two pawns lvl 95 and 130. They made the quests easy for me.

I believe there pawns are always free too so you don’t have to pay 50,000+ for a pawn.

any of brents main quest triggers the dragon attack at melve, Disas Plot is the easiest and burn the Suarian Nest for the Maister as well before doing Disas plot

Actually trigger for fighter maister skill when u doing quest for that old man, before u go vernworth there quest clear lizard nest after u do that when u reach vernworth there quest for oxcart back to Melve.. after u deliver the letter u got the maister skill.. What if u skip the lizard nest quest ?? There a reason why he give you maister skill.. the affinity reach 200... So there 2 way, no. 1 gift him until 200 affinity.. or no. 2 wait escort quest.. by doing that u got 200 affinity so far i know escort quest is trigger when they move out to herve

Not abilities or skills, just augments. You need to be warfarer to use other classes' skills.

Anyone know how I can get the righteous fury skill if that Lennard dude won’t give it to me? I did receive the quest to return to melv from time to time, how ever I don’t know if it was time sensitive or if you progress through the story too much, the quest disappeared from my log. Even when I go to lennard, he just talks to me like a regular npc and doesn’t do anything.

Same thing happened to me, I thought it was going to be bugged until a patch but I just kept playing and eventually rested for like a week straight went back to him with fighter vocation activated and he gave it to me

Bakbattahl has some, your next upgrade will probably the silver cinqueda sword. Then if you go south west and loop around towards volcano Island youll come across the exalted (holy enchanted mace) and then volcanie Island itself holds another enchanted mace ( fire) and the volcano camp sells a really good sword for 50k which is what I'm using.

Probably built wrong, whenever you see a pawn with lackluster A.I. it's probably a bad augment, lack of certain skills, bad items, weight issues. The best pawns are the ones with a similar vocation to the arisen since they can learn from the arisen.

Yup you can! but tbh you wouldn't really want to, as most of their kit revolves around using it. If you don't want a shield Warrior might be for you.

I gave him the letter and he gave me nothing, I go to talk to him from time to time and nothing gives him anything. I have also lost Melve's "story" so I can't have the romance with Ulrika either. Is there no solution already? just finish the game and play the ng+?

I'm probably rather late but just in case or if anyone else reads, you just need to max his affection for you. If he's not giving you his teachings, give him a gift once per day (you can rest on the bench nearby for free) and eventually he'll hand you the skill.

@@collincausley4380 Yep. For some people it usually works on the dragon being repelled because they've done quests beforehand with him, and doing quests for any NPC increases their affection for you.

I did the Dragon fight back in Melve and killed it with the ballista from the tower and it did not give me the Solder's Code scroll afterwards so don't do it.

Thats hella dumb. Should still do it for the XP and if you speak to the mistic knight afterwards, he immediatly gives you the master scroll for the class. Do some research before giving false information.

6:00 so how does shield actually deal damage, its just shield bash right? at this point im not even sold on ever switching to a better shield because it just doesnt seem to matter, shield bash even on the better shields i found in caves does so little damage that im not even inclined to bother paying for the upgrade.its only use is to block

The better the shield the less drain on your stamina and the more knockdown its going to apply with its attacks and blocks. Its more about stuns than damage.
