Thank for all the support lads! Couple things I missed in the video... First, make sure to subscribe to my buddy Boomslang (Link in description) I forgot to mention that you need to be around the same tier zone as you are for fishing. Each zone has a (level), so you can only catch tier 4 fish head to the nearest tier 4 zone, etc. Another thing, you can only fill a journal if you are the same tier. You can not fill a tier 7 journal while you are using a tier 4 fishing rod. There's a small thing I missed about treasures in the water. If you come around a chest inside the water, make sure to fish it out for some loot! Again thanks guys for all the support!

Hey this is inaccurate. You can fish in zones a tier above what your current fishing tier is at (using t6 rod can fish in t7 zones etc.) also you can lvl up higher tier journals using lower tier rods. Since T5 i buy empty t7 books fill them up and resell them on the market.

@@xephondp No, you will want to be using seaweed salad for fishing. It increased the speed at which you reel in fish which is super nice. Pork Pie (the gathering yield food) would help you hold more fish though but fish are already so light personally a full inventory for me (T6 Bag t8 fishing gear) takes 2 hours to fill up. So, not worth it vs catching fish faster.

1. Fishing rod quality, buy better quality rods for higher fishing speed. 2. Do not use low tier horses as Alesh in video, gankers will kill you very easy (Use at least low tier armored horse) 3. There are more then two tipes of water, and even freswater have different fish (Highlands, forest) 4. Do not use fishing baits ,if you are fishing out of fish pools 5. If you are lvling fishing, chop fish to meat (at butcher) for higher profit. 6. Buy journals from your own laborer cuz its way cheaper then journals on AH 7. You dont have to equip your rod to fish, what i recommend is using dagger, bloodletter or some other high mobility weapons for escaping (You can buy some low tier, you dont need dmg just mobility from it) 8. For fishing gear abillity i recommend using, Ambush (Chest piece) and Wanderlust (Boots). Use wanderlust first and then ambush, that way you can travel far distance in stealth and get away from gankers, and for head gear use rotten fish abillity so gankers cant use auto-attacks or clease to remove slow, rotten or any movement impairing abbility.

Along with what Just Nuwen said, I'd like to add my take on leveling from T3 to T5. In 1.5 hours of fishing I was able to get from T3 to T5 fishing and make approximately 180k in fish. To achieve this I went to a yellow zone and fished along the edges of the map, only stopping to fish at pools (nodes) (no still water). Every 30 minutes I would eat a seaweed salad (they are expense, but it pays for itself). I also was always using the highest tier fisherman gear and fishing rod I could. I suggest getting at least an excellent quality (bronze color) fishing rod of your current tier level at a minimum. This will increase your reel speed on the fish. The quality of your fisherman gear does not seem to matter (at least for low levels where you won't have to worry about gankers) so just find the cheapest prices for each piece of gear. Since leveling from T3 to T5 is very fast, you could also buy all your T3 to T5 gear at once, keep it in your inventory and just swap it out every time you gain a fishing level tier. If you don't want to do this, every 30 minutes (when your seaweed salad buff runs out) bank / sell your fish that you caught and buy your next level gear if you have leveled up (or take it out of the bank if you bought it but just didn't want to carry it with you). If you have multiple tiers of fishing rods in your inventory, the game will automatically use the highest possible tier of rod so don't worry if you still have your T4 rod in your inventory when you are fishing with T5 gear. The game will choose the right rod. Hope this helps!

Thanks bro. Most channels just give you a 30 minute video over explaining that as a newbie you just need to gather, refine, and sell. That's all fine but that's something the game teaches you day one. Othe channels also tell you just to throw yourself into black or red zones when you get teir 5 or 6 gear just to lose all your gear. I just started playing this game like 4 days ago and I'm in love. Tried every mmo and got bored of them quite fast, the only ones that caught me for years were Lineage 2 and Guild Wars. This one just seem to have the perfect equilibrium of what an mmo must have, I'm loving it and just got started. So bad that lag spikes ruins in a way the experience, but I'm pretty sure the team will fix it.

I know it's like 10 months later but just in case this helps you out, having AO installed on an SSD really makes a difference. I was having huge lag issues especially entering and leaving zones but switched the install onto my SSD and I'm pretty much running it on my highest resolution, ultra graphics, zero lag. Again, you might have figured this out already or experiencing lag for a different reason, just thought if this helps, it helps. Good luck!

Tip so you can avoid stone wood and seaweed while fishing press the left click so the little icon goes to the edge of it them leave it... If the fish icon down starts to move backwords while the bar up goes to the left then its a quarantied fish so press your left click right away to continue fishing If it stays stationary for the whole duration its a quarantied stupid stuff like rocks wood or seaweed Thats from my expiriance in the game so you can avoid them if you want

I would say that fishing bait tier 1 is very good if you are using only pools / starting with fishing. Higher bait speeds are just for players who dont plan to move. So in ur case is completely useless a you dont need to use it at all :D

Hey man, I appreciate the content it was really helpful, but if i could offer some constructive critisism, this video could have easily been a 10 minute video. Theres a lot of redundat explaining. Like for example you used the bait and said it went down a charge. Then you proceeded to explain the exact same stuff as it goes down another charge. Great video, Alesh. Always very help and informative. One question, I have all t5 fishing gear and I'm having trouble fishing in t5 zones for some reason. I'm good in t4 and lower, but in t5 the little fish in the mini game won't move even if I use bait. Is there a solution to this or is this some sort of bug?

People say that it's easy to gank fishermen. I disagree in part. Yes, it is very easy to gank those fishermen with a deathwish that go around the map to find schools. However, if you go fishing with baits you can literally stay one step away from the zone's exit. I prefer T3 baits. T1 gives a too low bonus and T5 is too expensive. Sure, it costs money (actually not if you have an island and farms for worms) but you will be as safe as you'll ever be.

Not 100% sure, but if i remember correctly it says any kind of fish on fishing journals, so u can complete a tier 6 journal with tier 3 fish. It's very long though.

I wouldn't fish on your island. I fished a spot for 1.5 hours and caught all T3 and T4 fish. When I went to my island, the only fish I caught were T2... Every 30 minutes or so I was making around 60k-90k in fish. This 1.5 hours of fishing got me from levels 3 to 5 (without eating any fish). Hope this helps.

No. I've caught some expensive stuff in yellow and black zone as well. Though it's a lot more convenient to fish in red zone near caerlon because theres a lot of water and fishing spots and it's close to Caerlon so you would be wasting less time. Also its safer in redzone because u can see how many flagged players there are and it enables you to catch t6 fish which you cant do in yellow zone. Also I was saved by a group of unflagged players 3 times while being ganked in red zone, so once in a while that might happen. Good luck!
