It's a little time consuming to get everything laid out how you want it where it works best. I've gotten used to the nozzle being on the driver's side and it makes it convenient to put fuel in the truck from the tank and if I go to a big truck pump I can fill the truck with one nozzle and the tank with the other.

the first truck i put one of these in ended up with cracks the steel floor where the bolts went through. now i put a larger piece of steel against the bottom of the floor before the nuts to help spread the load. i am sure it was from the fuel sloshing around. never had a problem again. the one i am using now is not permanently mounted in the truck....i remove it often. i like the gallon meter. that would make it easier for me to charge out fuel to each truck i put it in.

I thought about doing a skid mounted, but then I thought when its cold or raining am I really going to want to open the shop up, get out the tractor, load the skid, secure it, make a special trip to go get fuel, come back, unload it etc. Eh probably not lol. But I also knew I didn't wan't a huge 100 gallon tank sticking up above the bed sloshing around either. In the future I might build a skid mounted tank in the shop that I could then fill from this tank if I need to keep more fuel on hand. So far this is working good being only a 50 gallon and being narrow I've never felt any fuel sloshing. I thought about building a fuel trailer with 2 100 gallon tanks but that wasn't in the budget, this was expensive enough. The fuel meter is ok, don't know how long it will last though, its not as accurate as one at the gas station but its pretty close. The flow rate has to be over 3.5 gpm for it to register flow. You wouldn't believe how many times I have went up town to do something knowing I needed diesel and then forget the diesel cans, have to come back home get the cans and then go back to town lol.

@@LifeWithChase i do the same thing.....purposely go to town only to realize the tanks were at home. mine is 100 gallon and i can feel it swaying when you come to a stop. it is is too big for me to leave in. i couldnt use my 5th wheel with it in the bed so i just take it out when i need to.

Is there anyway to have a kill switch on it. Stop anyone from going and filling there tank up.
@LifeWithChase2 жыл бұрын
Yep, you can mount a switch under the hood or in the cab. I never got around to doing that, but I typically don't leave any fuel in it since fuel went up 😂

Have you thought about running a fuel line to your truck? I just bought a FillRite 112 & am using it for my bio diesel system & seems to be doing well only goes one direction, so that kinda sucks, but then again it’s kinda nice. I’ve got a 50gal tank in my truck so for my uses I didn’t want to deal w an electric pump, I needed something that didn’t need a battery. I like that it’s lockable tho, even tho I don’t think anyone is going to steal any of my bio diesel but it’s nice to have.

Nah it's quick and easy just to grab the nozzle and add some if needed. Mainly use it for filling tractor and torpedo heater.

Nice rig bud. $3 a gallon 👍 On film that pump sure sounds loud , I imagine outdoors its quiter that in the shop.
@LifeWithChase4 жыл бұрын
It's still pretty loud but it only has to run for a minute or two so it doesn't bother me, beats the heck out of cans!
