Kickass video most people skip over camp during a elk hunting video ty for touching on how your camp is put together.

I have a cold drink hack that has worked for us. We did it on the ski slopes. But you put all your beers in a paper bag and then put em in the snow or at the base of a tree. They don't freeze or turn to slush. It's magical. Now if you're in a single digit temperature climate I can't help ya with that. But the paper bag shit works! Oh, and Elk is by the thousands in Montana. Seriously they just walk through the yard. A town Marshall dropped on right off his front porch. Packs by the hundreds running a muck eating all the cattle's hay.

Nice video, we just got back from CO for 2nd season. Looking to invest into this type of setup for out of state hunts. The amount of hotels I've stayed at would have already covered the cost. Thanks for some ideas.

On top of the cost savings, we saved 45 min to an hour of drive time each way from town. It was a much more efficient use of our limited time.

I’m a rancher in Wyoming and the individuals we open up hunting to are all across the “table”… some prepared,.. others, no idea, of what to expect!… we should collaborate on this topic!!

Love the video man! The only thing I will say is I can tell your from Florida! Your truck would have had no issue getting out of that 6” of snow, no need to shovel out the whole drive. But again love the video!
@justmitchell172 ай бұрын
Thanks brother! Live and learn I guess. We had an issue in the week with the 4x4 on the truck acting up, and it was a decent incline with a fully loaded trailer. Better to be safe than sorry and we had a tight return window that didn’t involve getting stuck!

@@justmitchell17 would you recommend the solar powered generator?
@justmitchell172 ай бұрын
@Chuck_cedar Most definitely. I’m gonna be posting some new videos related to it with an extra battery and an alternator charger, which will make the mobile hunting set up even better. For years I have been hesitant with lithium technology, but it has improved a bunch and now it’s a valuable option.

This was a great video. Was taking notes the whole time watching it. Could you share which Davis Tent size you went with? Could you link the model of the outhouse tent? And was the solar able to charge the Ecoboost or did you have to use the generator a few times as well?

16x20 w/ 7’ porch Outhouse- Ozark Trail from Walmart When we had sun, yes. But after day 3 it snowed a bunch and covered my panels. It also stayed pretty grey/cloudy until the end of the week. I believe we ran the generator twice when sunlight wasn’t an option. The little 2000 is the way to go. You can program the delta pro charge rate, and size it to maximize any generators max output without overloading it.

Just depends on what kind of camping you want to do. I camp a lot out of an ultralight backpack (extremely minimal) We just wanted more comfort for the week. Took us about 4 hours to setup/tear down.

The porch was built into the tent from Davis. We ordered it with the extra poles and the rain fly to cover the 7’ overhang.

Joolca hottap with the shower stall would complete this. I have a 2 burner tabletop griddle that does not work well in cold, won't produce enough heat. I wonder about a covered area around the firepit, maybe a popup with a vented roof. I have one but don't think it would handle snow like that.
@justmitchell17 Жыл бұрын
Huh. We had an issue with the griddle being too hot and burning on the camp chef 3 burner at 9700’. Had to turn it down some.

OTC Colorado is the cheapest elk hunt in the country and we stayed on public land for free. Your bitter, resentful narrative doesn’t really fit here bud……
